This is an OC, semi plotless roleplay focused on character development, and open to muns who are 25+ and characters 28+.

Word on the street is, ELLIOTT ARCHER (Luke Grimes) is looking for their MOTHER.

CHARACTER NAME:

Nora Bennett, but this can absolutely be changed!She once had her first husband's last name (Archer), but after she re-married it's up to you if she would've taken the new husband's name (Bennett) or kept her maiden one (UTP).

BACKGROUND

Triggers: arrest, anger issues, abandonment

I feel like Nora never thought of herself as someone fit to be a mother, but falling in love with Elias (Elliott's dad) made her forget about that, but the fairytale didn't last. Elias had serious anger issues and was detained multiple times because of them, until he left town for good when Elliott was 12 and no one ever heard about him again.

Soon after, Nora gave up her parental rights and Elliott went to live with his grandparents on his dad's side. His mom stayed in Sedona, so they'd see each other around town all the time; as strangers. She went on to get married again and had another kid, the picture perfect family.

When Elliott got arrested, his mom wanted to reconnect. She visited him in prison along with his grandmother and, when he was released, helped him out in his sobriety journey and made constant trips to Denver to visit him and her granddaughter.

She tirelessly tried to be his mother again and re-build their relationship, but Elliott never budged, to this day. There's still a lot of hurt coming from him, and he only tolerates Nora's presence because his daughter is actually really close to her and he would never deny her the joy of having the presence of her grandmother.

This connection will have so much angst and complicated feelings!! Elliott is still the most resentful towards his mother, and she's been trying to fix things for almost twenty years now, oof! But I really hope their interactions can mean something to him, even if it's not towards reconcilliation, especially now that he's back in town to face his past.

Her background, personality and everything else is entirely up to the player!

They have been in town long enough to identify potential, as well as bearing witness to the war among citizens; development versus preservation of Sedona.  They could either have their own development company or work for someone else. Maybe it’s their family’s legacy / business.  Your muse’s connection to Bella started back when they were living in Quebec as children. They were besties with secret handshakes, snack/lunch swapping, pinkie promises, birthday parties, big dreams, and made up games & languages. They know her as Rosabel Wallace, and they would have last seen each other when they were around 8 years old. Please read Bella’s backstory for more insight on why this is.   Present day, they would be taken aback to see one another. It’ll be an interesting reunion! There’s so many years and distance between them that it will be interesting to see what possibilities could stem from them getting to know one another again. Complications may arise due to your muse’s job and purpose in Sedona as well! Sedona’s current climate has bred suspicion of Land & Property Developers. As a journalist Bella’s investigations into the developers could put them at odds at some point.

Your muse (ym) is the first person Guillermo ever properly loved. They were wildly in love in their youth, and still kinda hold a flame for each other now, though they fight against it. Their romance history started off as high school sweethearts. In high school he was very much a popular athlete type, and a star on the school’s basketball team. Guillermo had everything riding on basketball, namely, making his parents proud, and getting out of Sedona. With his sights set on colleges and the NBA, the presence of scouts and their flashy wooing really inflated his ego. 

When ym and Guillermo were good, they were golden! Things only really started to fall apart after he was seriously injured during a game. The fallout from that accident on the court led to a premature end of his future in the NBA. He started getting resentful, withdrawn, and communication became like pulling teeth. Thereafter, Nadia’s accident further added to everything in his life going awry. It also didn’t help that after his sister recovered enough to travel, their mom took her and left. 

I imagined his bae would have their future plans as well, still intact, and pretty much ready to go! As for the break up, Guillermo would have pushed them away until they probably had no choice but to leave, or maybe for their sanity they left him? Happy to figure that out together.

Ideally, ym would have left Sedona years ago to pursue their own dreams at some point after high school graduation. Ym could have visited on and off over the years which could lead to these two making some questionable choices like not addressing their past, and hooking up / having a fling on top of that. However, I’d like it if ym didn’t permanently return to Sedona until recently. Whatever brings them back to live here is UTP! Either way, there's a ton of unresolved stuff between them! So bring on the messiness, drama, arguments, angst, etc. as they try to figure out co-existing in the same small town they both shared dreams of getting out of together.

when she met her "ex-husband", she was young and fell hard. together they built what she thought was a happy life, raising their two daughters and planning a future together. that illusion shattered when it came to light that he had been living under a false name and had another wife and family all along. she had no idea she was the "other woman," and discovering the truth turned her entire world upside down. with no other choice, she reclaimed her maiden name, montclair, choosing to rebuild her life around the family and business that had always been there for her.

They’re new enough to still be proving themselves, but seasoned enough to recognize Nathan as someone worth watching. He could have trained them directly or they regularly work the same shifts. However, Nathan is someone that doesn’t coddle people that he works with, especially new hires. The connection could be that they admire him and want his approval or they could also mistake his silence for judgement or emotional distance. Other dynamics are options as well! Nathan would see potential in them but can struggle with the mentorship side of things again because he has a fear of getting close to someone who could hurt him.
