bittersweet memories [Lucian & Will]
Lucian wasn’t sure why she was visiting Ecruteak City—it was indeed where she was born, but it only held bitter memories of her childhood. She didn’t have a very tragic past, but she did have very bad experiences with bullying. The reason it took her so long to come out, the reason she has so many problems dealing with others.
But Lucian did have some precious moments in this town. She had a friend—who was apparently also a member of the Elite Four(granted, not in the same region as Lucian)—who made living a bit more bearable at the time.
Lucian had a coping mechanism when she was younger—the ability to literally disappear. She hadn’t really used that power in so long, though it could come in handy with all the messes she somehow just walks right into, but…it felt like it was reserved for only special occasions. Plus it was something Lucian didn’t like to admit she could do—she wanted to avoid being called a ‘freak’ once again.
"It’s already getting too warm here for my tastes…I guess I’m so used to the cooler climate of SInnoh at this point," she mumbled to herself, sighing softly. She wondered if it was okay to…disappear. Just for an hour or so, she figured. It couldn’t hurt.
So she closed her eyes, her body no longer visible to anyone that would walk by. It was a comforting feeling, actually. To observe without being observed.
The one person who could see Lucian, though, was that one friend who was now part of the Johto Elite Four. Will was his name—he was kind, a little goofy, and a bit odd. But so was Lucian. And the fact that Will could see her even in this condition was something the bookworm seemed to take interest in.
She thinks to herself, that she wouldn’t really mind if she bumped into him again.
Visiting his hometown was something Will really should do more, it was where the only family he knew lived, but after not seeing them for years he knew the reunion would be awkward. He hung around the outskirts of the city, trying to think of what to say, what to do, what to...
Finally deciding that over analyzing things wasn't worth it, he stepped into the still familiar city to find his way home. Right away he was washed over with nostalgia. He wasn't quite sure what to think of it right away, sure, he wouldn't say he had the worst experience of his life here, but it wasn't exactly his favourite place to think of either.
But there...there was something off. He could sense something wasn't quite right, but no one else around him seemed to notice. Of course, he was used to that, he had to rely on his psychic powers to "see" the world around him in ways no one else had to, and he tended to pick up on anomalies around him. This one, however, was familiar...
Quietly sneaking up behind the hidden woman, Will placed his hands on her shoulders.
"Heh~ You can't hide from me long, you know~ What brings you here?" He asked happily, welcome not only to see an old friend, but for a distraction from what he came for.
