Seeing his brother helped to ground James as he reached out to curl a hand around Albusâ shoulder as the younger boy began to express his own concerns about what he had seen. Jamesâ brow furrowed. âNow that wouldnât make any sense. There would be no rhyme or reason to fire Professor Longbottom.â He was an upstanding teacher and McGonagall wouldnât have any reason to lay him off. Especially not mid term. âThere has to be another reason for it. Heâs also Head of House and I havenât heard anything about ours changing and I imagine that would be something that they announced. Weâll find him, donât worry.â James reached into his pocket and displayed the rolled up Map. âWe can just locate him on here.â
Albus nodded along to Jamesâ words, feeling just his touch and reassurance ease his concerns and calm him down. âYouâre right, youâre right, thereâs got to be another explanation to it. It all feels so... wrong, though, doesnât it? Like the world has tilted on its axis.â Albus couldn't put his finger on exactly what it was. His mind had been so caught up with concerns about his godfather that he hadn't even paid much attention to the events surrounding him, but it was the small details that threw him off. The missing office, the different paintings, the halls filled with strangers -- somehow, it didn't quite make sense. Quieting down as he waited for James to open the map, his eyebrows eventually shot up as he took in the sight. âThatâs a lot of people,â he commented quietly, eyes skimming over the names on the map.
