Watching Last Week Tonight and know instantly all the problems with a poison mentioned because I used it in a fic.
Online fandom seems to be dying and I think we should let it. Fics are getting deleted by their authors from AO3 at an accelerated rate, fan artists are leaving fandoms, and all because supposed fellow fans are toxic and entitled as hell. Actors and writers are fleeing social media to escape the abuse and it just keeps getting worse. Fandom used to be in cons and clubs and I think some people would benefit from being in punching range when they run their mouths.
My beta reader just informed me they have commissioned fanart of a WIP so now I have to work on it.
Finding out some people tag OPs and going looking out of curiosity just to find two people spent a couple days absolutely obsessed about badmouthing me for having a different lived experience from "how things are"TM.
Spent the last week or so writing 15k words of polytrix with no idea where this is going. I have dozens of WIPs I should be working on instead.
Saw Thunderbolts.
If there was a wrap up showing any follow up for the characters that acknowledged their prior stuff it would have been a much better movie. Instead it's like a fanfic that someone posted by chapter and then walked away before posting the last one. By someone who didn't watch the shows before writing the fanfic and based it only on promo material of them. It's good but it doesn't really fit and doesn't really make sense. And the after credits felt like someone making up their own epilogue in the comments.
Back on my bullshit. (Starting fic that probably won't ever get finished)

Was watching reruns of Rizzoli & Isles and remembered hearing that in the books Isles is supposed to be less socially aware and much darker than in the show.
So was born the idea of Sinclair & Addams. Coworkers, besties, and roommates. The only people who don't think they're a couple are them.
Not intended to be a series but if I get another vague idea for a plot it may become one.
Hopped onto AO3 for the first time in a week, maybe two, and had a comment saying "can't believe I am the first comment on this fic!" and I was like, yeah only like 30 people have clicked into it. And then I saw it went from less than 30 reads in the first 5 months it was out to now over a hundred sometime in the next five months. Another fic I posted about the same time had the same kind of jump. Like maybe 200 in the first five months to now 450 after another five months. But only those two. Everything else I've posted in the last year is about where I vaguely recall them being.
People need to figure out the difference between Canon and Headcanon. You can't tag something Canon compliant and then base everything in your fic off things that never happened in the source material.
Since I just did all the work to find the details/terms on Mizu's outfit (and will need them later):
Cloak/Cape - bozugappa, black
Overshirt - (Canon is her childhood kimono) Samue, navy
Undershirt - juban, white
Sandals - waraji, black
Socks - tabi, black
Pants - tattsuke bakama, black?
Belt - (Canon is her childhood blanket from her baby basket) kakuobi, blue waves (seigaiha)
Forearm covers - tekko/tekkou, black
Neck scarf - tenegui
Hat - people have said a sandogassa/sandokasa style since it was typical for samurai but it has some curve to a point like a tongarikasa. Argument could also be made for a very wide brimmed very shallow fukaamigasa or roningasa. Probably a custom/regional variant.

An Agatha x Rio I didn't expect to write. I liked the show but the pairing was the least interesting part of it except as motivation for Rio's actions so I was surprised to come up with something for it.
Spent yesterday and today watching a friend go crazy trying to explain that the election isn't done on "election day" just for Harris to concede instead of acknowledging the process of the system means there isn't a set decision yet.
Hard to expect the random citizenry to understand the system when apparently neither candidate does. Which is ... depressing.
i am not up on all the fanfic, but I don't think the Wenclair fan community has leaned in enough on the fact that Wednesday probably has an "everything needs to be perfect", worship your partner approach to sex while Enid has more a bites you (sexy), bites you (consensualy), bites you (draws blood) approach and it turns out that is exactly what the other wants from their partner.
fic writers in the tags tell me the fic you're most proud of writing. any fandom, ship, no ship, any length etc. whatever work makes you go "oh i wrote this" and elaborate why if you want

Y'all have gotten so used to playing spot the AI you have forgotten how to play spot the Photoshop.
Seriously, look at the blur to the stone above the "in memory", the blocks above and below "Sinclair" which are due to a lazy cut and paste with blur.
and money.
