kid stiles who has a wolf plushie his mom gave him. he carries it around everywhere and talks to it nonstop. he plays imaginary games where it comes to life as a big wolf and protects him from the bullies at school, curls around him when his mom dies.
in his head the wolf talks back to him and stiles convinces himself he's real. they play hide and seek in the backyard and stiles pets him at night and reads him his own favorite story before snuggling up to him.
one day stiles is walking home from school and some guy starts following him. stiles is scared but he has his plush wolf in his backpack. he goes to take it out to hold it but it's not there. before he can panic, a large black wolf suddenly appears in front of him on the sidewalk, baring its teeth and growling at the stalker.
stiles isn't afraid. instantly he knows, that's his sourwolf come to life.
… I got inspired
you gotta read, you gotta write, you gotta draw, you gotta watch films and shows. there is literally NO time to be employed

Character has a PhD: they’re really smart and knowledgable about their field!
Character has 2 PhDs: either they did a dual degree program and are braggy about it, had a life-changing experience after their first degree and pivoted their whole career, or they find the structure of being a PhD student, despite all its stress, more comfortable and familiar than the stress of finding a Real Job and have a very indulgent advisor.
Character has 3 PhDs: who keeps accepting them to PhD programs. Either this person needs psychological help or their department needs to be investigated for its academic standards. Probably both
Character has 4+ PhDs: if they aren’t an undercover vampire or something then no they don’t lol

Hooped Rivalry - Promo
Posting Date: August 9, 2026 Title: Hooped Rivalry Artist: @adromelke Author: @tea-or-die
Fic Summary: High on pain meds after a fall, pole dancer and aerial hoopist Shane Hollander invites his biggest rival to come spend the summer at his cottage. Ilya Rozanov is not the kind of person who hangs out with guys like Shane, so it's a big surprise when Rozanov accepts the invitation. Together, they make the kind of magic other athletes can only dream of, and Shane finds himself hoping Rozanov never lets him go.
Snippet: Hey, Ilya starts out. I do not go back to Russia until third week of June. Was your offer genuine? It would have been almost out of character, if he hadn’t tacked on, Or do you forget inviting your biggest rival to your studio this summer? ;) Shane just shakes his head, composing his reply. It’s the last day of May, he’s only got a little bit of time to make sure Ilya knows this is worth it.
While he considered being just as flippant as Ilya, Shane wants the other man to know that his offer is genuine. He really would like to work with him over the summer, honing their skills together and maybe even coming up with a pairs routine they could trial when the season opens back up. He doesn’t expect them to rank very high if they do, but Shane can’t shake the idea of working the pole with Rozanov instead of against him.
Hey. Shane mirrors Ilya’s opening. The offer was absolutely genuine. I would love to have you work with me in my studio this summer. Though he thinks about it for several minutes, he can’t come up with anything else to say. At least, not anything that won’t make him look like an idiot.
Is in Ottawa, ya? You have suggestion for hotel?
That won’t do at all. There’s no way Shane wants to waste any of their time due to a commute. My place is pretty big, he shoots back. You are more than welcome to stay here. There’s enough space that we would be able to stay out of each others’ way.
And what if I don’t want to stay out of your way? ;)
Shane swallows hard. His mind starts running the odds on how Rozanov wants him to take that. Is it supposed to be silly? Flirty? A threat? Maybe even all three. With a deep breath, he responds. Then I guess we’ll just have to dance around each other. There, that’s a witty enough response. He thinks.
I like that idea very much, Ilya sends back. What is address? With another deep breath, Shane drops his location in the chat. He makes sure Ilya knows he’s welcome to come up as soon as he’s able, asking that he just give Shane at least a few hours notice before just showing up. He gets a reassurance that there will be a message at least a day in advance, then Ilya lets him know he’s got to go, his father is calling him.
No worries, Shane shoots back. Talk to you soon.
He’s not sure how long he sits there staring at his phone after that final message. His heart rate, which had skyrocketed during the conversation, slowly begins to return to normal. Forcing himself to unbend his fingers from where they have a death grip on his phone, Shane sets the device down and heads into the kitchen. He’s starving, and he knows there’s at least a couple of cans of tuna in the cupboard. Damn, he’s going to have to order groceries.
It really is hilarious because whenever you start your art journey, you watch all the videos and ask artists and they all give tips and help but it all ends up coming down to "you just have to practice".
And it pisses you off because bruh how am I supposed to practice this shit if I can't even do this first couple of fucking lines to make a good cylinder.
And then you start drawing and it sucks and you keep doing it, and you learn new skills and tricks, and you even end up developing an art style naturally (which they told you you would do, and you didn't believe them, but it came free with the constantly drawing in a way that made you comfortable and learning the medium).
And at the end of it all, someone else asks wow how you did all of that, and after all this time of putting in effort you finally have to eat crow and admit that the answer is... Damn... you really have to practice 🤣🤣🤣
This this this. I tell people when they ask for art tips that my biggest one is just to draw. I never really read a lot of art books or watched a lot of videos personally, I just looked at artists I liked and tried to figure out how they did things and that was the sub-total of my practice.
I find reading about art a waste of time that you could be using to actually just draw. Yes it will suck at first, but you have to give yourself permission to not be great at first so that you can look back in a year and go: wow. I came so far and improved so much.
Like yeah there are things you’ll figure out along the way that will make your art better, but it’s also entirely subjective. I like line art, so a lot of my skills were there, someone else’s may be rendering. Just draw, you’ll find your style (bc everyone has one in there somewhere believe me), and you will improve with time.

one of the best parts of making up increasingly wild and specific aus with a friend is sending them posts like "this is sooo blorbo in torture chamber au number 15" and they reply back like "YESSS btw have i told you about my latest idea for how to torture them even more" and you get to enjoy a little snack and kick your feet with glee
