soooo... i’ve officially decided to retire this blog. it’s been going on maybe five or six ( tbh i lost count ) years, but i think it’s time to move pages ! ya’ll thought i was leaving, didn’t ya ? it feels like this page is ridiculously cluttered and it’s high time for me to de-clutter and re-situate, so until then, a link will be posted !
bcngerz:
this being his first child, he was sure that he’d stick around through thick and thin. he was a loyal man. even though he didn’t have a great relationship with his father; he wanted to instill his love into his children. he wasn’t a believer in divorce without a cause either. there was no love in his marriage so he didn’t feel the need to be trapped by one. there was so much love in his eyes every single time he looked into her eyes. the male was positive he wouldn’t be able to leave her now. “good.” sighing in relief. there was only so much stamina he had in entertaining people. it was the reason why he was a doctor. it was easier to get tasks done than make things up on the spot. “i know. i just didn’t expect so many people would even care about me… i just, i don’t know, i guess i didn’t realize all of this until now.” it was quite a realization. maybe it was because he was out of his zombie-like state. he wasn’t going through things, he was actually living for the first time in years. it was a great feeling. the male’s grin couldn’t have grown wider when he heard her talk to their daughter. it was such a nice feeling to get used to. a family. he had always wanted one and now he was finally getting to live out his dreams. also feeling her move along his hand to kick her made him chuckle. “i love her so much already.” it was a random truth. nils was sure that both of these girls had his heart and more. “i know. if we weren’t shipping stuff and i wasn’t tired, i’d be down for fooling around.” furrowing his brow at her comment before laughing. “really? you look and like it?” it just never crossed his mind; he never thought that it would be attractive to someone else. it was probably because he saw so many at work that it didn’t really phase him.
marleny had always been nervous when it came to becoming a mother. it wasn’t that she was afraid of being a bad one, it was just that she didn’t know where she would be when she became one. at the beginning of this journey, she believed that she was going to be a single mom, trying to get to work and raise their child -- the fear had been too much to handle. with nils back and their relationship stronger than ever, marleny wasn’t so afraid anymore. she was ready for everything that would come their way, but she was still nervous of what was to come. “well, you are the guy that got me pregnant and stole my heart, so of course my friends are going to care.” marleny teases as she speaks, pushing her hair behind her ear. “don’t worry, before you know it, the house will be empty and we’ll just be together. no more hiding away in your office.” marleny gave him a small smile as she spoke, moving her hand over her stomach. everything was going to change within the next few months, granted, the next few weeks. they were leaving behind the place that they’d called home in search for a better life with one another and their daughter. she smiles at his truth, looking up at him. “i love her too.” it kind of scared her, knowing that se would be going into labor soon, and while things might have been going well so far, there was a bit of fear the lingered in the back of her mind. “oh, you’re too tired to fool around, huh?” she jokes, shaking her head. “we’ll have plenty of time for that later, but of course i do, at both of those. your ass was sort of the deal breaker, believe it or not. nice and firm, the way i like it.”

pulling into the small parking lot of the diner, landon could feel his stomach scream after food the minute he saw the large sign on top of the building. getting out of the car, he walked over towards her side to help her out of the car, too scared to let her do that herself considering how intoxicated she actually was. reaching out for her heels, he helped her to get those on before continuing to help her out of the vehicle, his arm secure around her waist as he guided her inside the little diner he had brought her to. the male was happy that he hadn’t touched a drop of alcohol that night, considering he was supposed to be driving everyone home ( even though he completely ditched them, which he was aware he was gonna get hell for ) because if he had, he wouldn’t have been able to drive her home or well, to this diner && then home. catching sight of a table he thought would be perfect, he pulled out the chair for her && helped her sit down, basically not trusting her to do anything on her own in her current state, which probably annoyed her but landon didn’t really care. sitting down on the chair in front of her, he picked up the little menu, he licked his lips as he let his eyes gaze over it, even though he had already decided on what to get. ‘ you know what you’re getting? ‘
despite keeping her attention on the passing scenery for the last fifteen minutes, it takes marleny a little while to realize that they arrived to the diner. she should probably blame that on how drunk she was. and while she wanted to swat landon’s hands away from helping her get out of the car and into her shoes, she knows that it’s probably better than potentially face platting not even five steps away from the car. she mutters a tank you once they’re inside of the diner and they’ve made it to their table, thankfully in one piece. despite how un-ladylike it appeared, marleny set her elbows on top of the table and placed her face in the palms on her hands as she read over the menu, wanting every bit of greasy food that the diner had to offer. she knew that she had to get sober one way or another, and why not do it with someone as good as a burger or french fries. “everything looks so good,” marleny answers his question while continuing to look over the menu. “but i think i’m gonna go with the all american burger and an order of the onion rings with a strawberry shake.”
Jacqueline Carlyle in The Bold Type, destroying the ‘horrible female boss’ stereotype.
For viewers closer in age to Hardin’s Jacqueline Carlyle, her version of a woman in charge is a refreshing subversion of this damaging archetype. The younger characters are the stars of the show, but Hardin’s Jacqueline is a nurturing force who pushes her employees to do their better as opposed to whipping them. And it’s under her leadership, and Watson’s careful shaping the story, that Scarlet thrives on support and collaboration as opposed to rivalry.

cayden grins. “i finally know the secret to being a good singer.” he laughs at her curtsy. “ah, yeah. they sent some of us back a day early. i think it was a rank thing.” he knows it wasn’t a discharge of any sort, as he would’ve been alerted of that. “i wanted to surprise you, that’s why i didn’t tell you.”
“if you get the volume up to about eight, that’s when the vocals are really good.” she grins as well, biting her lower lip gently. “oh, sounds like you’re on the of the lucky ones. but now that you’re home early, we could go to lunch or something.” she walks over to him to close the gap between them, giving him a hug. “i missed you, and it was a really nice surprise.”
emotioncl:
cayden can hear the music as he walks up to the house, so he isn’t surprised when marleny doesn’t hear his trademark marching steps. he leans against a wall once he gets inside, watching with a smile on his face. the soldier chuckles when she screams, not flinching at the sound. “mm. you’ve got quite a voice. or is it the fuzzy socks? it might be the socks. all in all, great performance.” he teases, arms crossed.
marleny hadn’t expected for cayden to come back so soon, which explains why the house is half cleaned and she’d singing into a broom. she tucked her hair behind her ears, and put the broom aside. “i think the music’s volume made me sound better. i usually sound like a dying cat,” she chuckles. “well, thank you. i thought it was my best one yet.” she gives a playful curtsy. “but i thought you weren’t supposed to be home for another day or so.”
dcgausscr:
“that’s what friends are for, mars.” because, that’s what they were despite everything that happened, right? friends? because he hadn’t come here to destroy her wedding — if she was happy he was happy, that had to count for something, didn’t it? it just so happened she wasn’t happy. that she didn’t love the guy, that this was a mistake. of course the ache in his heart reminded him that they were much more than friends, that this ran deeper than that, but that was a discussion that would need to be had at a different time. “just… get changed as fast as you can. i’m sure someone’s bound to head back here soon.” the faster they got out of here, the easier it would be to avoid the inevitable shit storm, right? because a huge one was coming, no doubt about it.
she has mixed emotions about leaving. on one hand, she’s happy that she’s around tristan again, and on the other hand, her fiance wasn’t a terrible guy. he was nice and treated her well, so why was she ending their wedding like this when she could have just told him? it doesn’t stop her from cleaning off her makeup and taking the veil out of her hair, draping the dress over the couch and leaving everything behind. marleny leaves the ring on the vanity with a note, apologizing to everyone and mostly her now ex-fiance, gripping her bag as she rushed out of the room and back down the hall to where tristan was. “we’re not making a bad decision, are we?” she asks, biting her lower lip. “i think we might end up on the cover of a magazine by the morning.”
