I found an old interview in 2013 in my computer so I decided to translate it to English. The interview was funny and casual. Hope you enjoy and sorry for my terrible English in advance.
Q: What do you think of Fernando Torres?
A: He is hard-working but he really should go to another club (laugh).
Q: Three things that you like the most?
A: Me, myself and I (joking).
Family, snooker and video games.
Q: Three things that you hate the most?
A: Pumpkins. My mum made terrible pumpkins when I was 7 or 8 years old
English food. Food in Cambridge is fine but not the others.
Diving, which is what they do in football games.
Q: Use two words to describe yourself?
Q: Which one do you prefer, Star Wars or Star Trek?
A: I used to watch Star Trek a lot when I was a kid, which means that I liked the original Star Trek. Now I prefer Star Wars. I’m worried that the seventh is going to ruin the series.
Q: What did you do with your first prize money from your professional career?
A: Well, what did I do? Are you talking about the first time I won the prize money? I think I didn’t do anything. I saved them.
Q: What’s the best moment in your life?
A: The moment when I won World Championship and my child was born.
Q: What will you do if being Barry Hearn for one day?
A: (Smirk) I will give all money to Neil Robertson~
Q: What kind of snooker matches do you prefer, the casual ones before or more professional matches nowadays?
A: I enjoy professional matches more.
Q: How will you spend them if you win the lottery with one million pounds?
A: I will use them to pay the mortgage and give the rest to my family.
Q: Who is more handsome, you or Mark Selby?
A: Me of course. Mark Selby is too skinny. (raise his finger to describe Selby’s figure) I have more muscles. (patting on his chest with a proud face)
Q: You have lived with Mark Selby in Leicester for a while. What was that about?
A: We spent 3 or 4 months together. We didn’t know how to cook so we ate hamburgers every day.
Q: What will you say to yourself if you can travel back to 10 years ago?
A: I have nothing to regret 10 years ago. If I can time travel, I want to go back more earlier than that, probably 15 years ago. I would tell myself to practice more and don’t waste time so that I could be successful earlier.
Q: How about travel forward to 10 years later?
A: If I play ok then I will not regret anything 10 years later; If not I will ask myself to retired. Of course I don’t want this to happen.
A: What do you mean? (blank face)
Q: I mean do you look in the mirror or take selfie?
A: I barely look in the mirror unless I have events to attend. There was a time I showed up with curly hair in China Open. Some fans loved it, some didn’t.
A: I can be romantic if I want. But I am too lazy. I think I’m romantic in general.
Q: What is the last thing before you go to bed?
A: I watch some TV shows like The Big Bang Theory. I love Sheldon.
A: I stay up all night when I play video games.
Q: What will you do if tomorrow is the end of the world?
A: Tomorrow is the end of the world? I’m so nervous! But I’m in China. What am I going to do? Well, I will fly back to my home since my son is there. (He takes it very seriously like tomorrow is really the end of the world.)
Q: Name three best friends in snooker?
A: Joe Perry, Mattew Selt and Calabrese.
