Name: Tilden Toots Age: ~29 The part of themselves they want to show the world: The sunflower turning towards the sun, one of the good muggleborns who is bad enough at magic that he’s not much of a threat to anyone unless you want to kill your plants then he’s a threat to you and only you. Quick to make a joke about himself so that he beats you to the punch and voted most likely to let you walk all over him. Bright patterns, neon lights, three green thumbs that are both literal and metaphorical in equal measure. Periodically missing eyebrows from potions experiments, but with a horrendous 80s mustache. The part of themselves that they want to hide from the world: Deep rooted insecurities, the politics that aren’t acceptable except among truly extremist groups (destroy the statute of secrecy, raise up non-magical folks, working on the #creaturesrights viewpoints). Anxious to the point that it’s actually a problem. Anger at the systems in place, anger at himself for letting people walk all over him and turning into neutrality for the supposed safety of it; not necessarily more calculating than he lets on, but maybe just smarter than he likes to act. Their views on blood politics/purism: I mean he won’t tell you this (or maybe he will! If you’re besties!) but he thinks the statute of secrecy is the stupidest shit in the world. #nonmagicalrights Publicly accepting of the spot he’s been allotted in life, but definitely prickles against it in private. Definitely leans into being “one of the good ones” and keeps his head down enough to keep the Ministry off his back, absolutely zero desire to get involved with anything that’ll get his head chopped off. Their views on magical supremacy overall: Oh hell no. He’s very anti-statute of secrecy, but in a way that puts magic at the behest of bettering everyone not just people who are born with magic and given how wizards treat people born without magic in their society, he feels pretty confidence in his belief that wizards should maybe.... not be solely in charge of anything.... but you won’t hear him saying that anywhere but in the privacy of the woods, away from people. He’s a muggleborn with opinions that he keeps to himself and, like, maybe Daisy. And his muggle siblings. And his parents. Just not most wizards. Their views on technomancy: His issues come into play with the privacy issues, but generally he thinks it’s interesting. Admitedly, Tilden’s a little more old school with technology, sometimes a little more analog than he is digital depending on the day, and does escape from the noise of it all to the woods to vibe more than he’d care to admit. Cybernetics are 100000% not his jam, though. Bye. Character parallels: Charles Boyle (b99), Mabel Pines (gravity falls), Orpheus (hadestown), James Maguire (derry girls), Joel (santa clarita diet), Peeta Mellark (the hunger games)
