oh man, uber eats and i really aren’t that close yet — it’s only ‘cause i didn’t get my food one time and they thought i did, so when i tried getting my money back it turned into one of those situations. but postmates, that’s what holds my pin and routing number captive. shoes are always a yes. you can’t ever have too many pairs.

I can’t relate to the curling iron portion of this, but amazon is insanely addictive. My favorite thing is ordering things late at night and then forgetting about it so when the packages arrive, it’s a guessing game of what it even is.

I mean my recent purchases are all house related. I got this lights kit and I can control the lights from an app on my phone. And this Furbo dog camera thing that you install and you can monitor them through your phone, send them treats when you’re away, and so much more. (there’s a thing that dispenses treats to them). ugh, thanks babe. happy i’ve made it to this point, if we’re being truthful. right? it’s such a problem. one would have thought someone would have risen to the occasion beyond those ridiculous gloves you wear to keep from burning yourself, but here we are. be the change you wish to see in the world, i guess, so when you see rare beauty coming out with a remedy to this problem, just know that this conversation is what inspired it all. i got ‘ya. i did, can’t forget my roots. i feel like wizards is still mainstream, you know? barney’s the b-side, only for the real ones. oh my god, the furbo camera is revolutionary. i check it more than i do my email whenever i’m out and about. i love the lights thing, though — isn’t it incredible that we can pretty much control every little aspect of our environment with our phones these days? i’ve been really, really good. taking my time, enjoying life, working on some incredible ass stuff. life hasn’t been this good in quite some time, and i’m just... i dunno. happy, i guess? yeah. how have you been, angel? it’s been too long.

Right? like it’s an all around good movie. Such a good story, it has good moves, good music I love all of it. Because people are old fashioned and think it’s more for females more then males since it’s about cheerleading and stuff.  But maybe I do maybe I don’t think you need to come see me and see if I can bring it on.  Oh  I think I saw Jennifer’s body once or twice I forget!  Clueless is great too.  It’s one movie that is really an icon of the time.  But she’s so cool she had all the looks and fancy computer at the time. 

it really is — they just don’t make movies like they did back in the early 2000s anymore. there was some kind of magic in the scripts, and the music. can’t beat a 2000s movie soundtrack no matter how hard you try. fuck that gender conformity shit, cheerleading’s for everyone. oh, you’re so on. bring it. i’m expecting to be absolutely and utterly wowed, just so you’re aware. megan and amanda absolutely killed it in jennifer’s body; it’s one of those cult classics that just scratches a very particular itch that not very many other films do? alicia silverstone paved the way, of this i am convinced. i love that the whole nineties, early two thousands aesthetic has come back into style.

three things i’ve learned in the month i’ve been thirty — number one: no matter how many times i tell myself i’m going to avoid burning myself with the curling iron, i still burn myself with the curling iron. number two: amazon should come with the surgeon general’s warning, because shit is addictive, i’ve never had such an eclectic group of online purchases wind up on my doorstep like the ones i’ve had these past few weeks. i mean, a mountable jar opener that hooks underneath a cabinet? an inflatable bar for the pool? knitting needles to start a new hobby out of the desire to do something tactile in my free time? calm it down, selena. resist the urge to not be a grandmother meets sorority sister. last but not least, number three: you’re never too old for the pencil paper calendar. as much as i love google calendar, if i don’t write it out, i don’t remember it. again, it’s the grandma in me. anyways, i’m selena, in case you never had the privilege of watching barney and friends growing up. tell me, what’s everyone been up to lately? any exciting purchases you’d recommend i give a go? things i should pencil in on the ol’ agenda? entertain me as i begin knitting this basic ass scarf. i remember when i was a little girl, i used to watch the tv show ‘rebelde’ all the time in my little cul-de-sac in mexico. it wasn’t specifically when it came out because i was, well, five years old and perfectly content with cartoons, but i got really into it around the age of seven and there started my obsession. fast forward to 2022 and now i’m starring in a remake of it on netflix - isn’t that kind of insane? really manifested that one for myself. i gotta ask, is there any old tv show or movie that you would have loved to have taken over the ropes if there was a remake for it? tell me about your pipe dreams, i’m all ears. while we’re getting personal, might as well introduce myself, my name’s selene.

it’s insane, but it’s so incredibly exciting for you — rebelde was one of the shows that i remember watching at my aunt’s house during the summers or over the holidays, using it to help sharpen up my spanish, and also because, c’mon, it was iconic. i cannot wait to see what all kinds of greatness you guys come up with in the remake. the trailers looked so fuckin’ good. it’s lovely to meet you, selene, i’m selena. pipe dream would be to take kate winslet’s role in titanic. or, if we’re being quite frank, leo dicaprio’s. i dunno, as much as i love his work in that film, i kind of feel like i’d wanna rock the jack role. switch things up, kiss kate winslet... it’d be for the books.

the fact you can quote bring it on... be still, my heart. an absolute staple when it comes to cinema. why are people surprised that it’s one of your favorites? it’s a damn good movie! please tell me you have all of the choreography memorized too. that’s perhaps the only thing that could make it even better. sometimes, when i’m bored, i play through the entirety of jennifer’s body in my mind. clueless comes in a very close second. alicia silverstone was kind of the cornerstone of who i wanted to be growing up; cher horowitz was the actual epitome of cool.

You guys have absolutely no idea how excited I am now that I can openly talk about new Blackpink content. Feels like I’ve been depriving people of it for too long. The new single drops on the 19th with a music video and it’s called Pink Venom and then the album shortly follows which is called Born Pink. Other than Ready For Love that we dropped the other week, this is the first thing we’ve done together in two years which feels like a life time and I’m not sure Ready For Love counts considering it got leaked years before and the music video is from a CGI mobile game. Either way, I’m so happy to be making music with my girls again and can’t wait to see everyone’s reaction and then on top of that I’ve got The Idol TV series dropping soon which was my first acting role so I’m in high spirits right now even if I did injure myself on the show. How are you all? Tell me exciting things in your life so I don’t feel like I’m boasting. I want to know anything from what you had for dinner to any big projects you have coming up. @hfrpstarters

and you have no idea how stoked i am that first of all, you’re able to talk freely, but the fact that we’re about to be blessed up one side and down the other with all of the blackpink content? feels like we’ve been in a drought. i’m so incredibly happy for you and the girls — can’t wait to tune in to your first acting role, so exciting! please tell me that all’s well on the injury front. we need you in one piece, jennie, and by we i mean me. boast away, though, it’s well warranted. i had pasta carbonara for dinner, and everything else is just kind of one big question mark at the moment. between only murders, turning thirty, all my rare beauty stuff, booking time in the studio, i feel like there’s always something i’m working on! the gomez grind never stops.
