This is not lore relevant at all btw we're just gonna imagine them all sitting around Chiron's computer (with a rom-hack cabin 9 made) okay?
Castor: Introduced the game to the others, (we're gonna pretend he's alive) patiently-ish guides everyone through the character making process.
Class/race: He multiclasses as a paladin/bard tiefling. He makes up an elaborate backstory about his traveling bard who saw so much horrible stuff in the taverns he played at that he became religious to seek guidance on what to do about the problems he encountered, and received said guidance in a command to become a paladin.
His guardian is a replica of the god he worships for ultimate betrayal.
Stephanie: Starts by designing her guardian to look like Castor because he keeps backseating her character creation. Castor is panicked trying to not spoil while being like "Uh, don't do that, no no seriously, don't do that" but it only makes Stephanie think it's funnier (She will regret this lmao)
Class/race: She chooses to be a half-elf with drow heritage because Castor explained that half-elf drow tavs don't really fit in anywhere and people don't always like or trust them and she went "oh, me!"
She would likely be a ranger because Castor said "Yk, like Aragorn!" and Stephanie said "Say no more."
She will then be very annoyed that people don't like her and that she can't do the cool magic stuff that Pollux can do.
Pollux: Keeps waving Castor off ("we shared a computer growing up. I can do this myself–Castor shut up I can't hear the music over your yapping!") - he keeps getting distracted by singing the music lol
Class:/race: He plays as a rogue, and if he gets far enough he might multiclass as a wild magic sorcerer high-elf OR a halfling, there's no in-between. He's all about the chaos and sneaking and being kind of morally grey because it's just a video game. Castor enjoys the catharsis of controlling the outcome to always be good (he savescums like crazy) while Pollux enjoys not having to control a thing and just seeing where his choices lead him if he doesn't have to worry about real life consequences.
Mr D: Wanted to see what all the noise was about. Lingered in the doorway, giggling at the kids squabbling and is thoroughly shocked when Castor drags him to the computer.
He is the god of chaos and revelry. He will force Castor to help him multiclass as a bard/druid but he plays it chaotic evil. Astarion approves. Minthara approves. Castor disapproves.
Everyone is curious what race he picks but in the end he finds 'human' to be a hilarious option and goes with it.
He is then disappointed that being human is – as usual – somewhat underwhelming.
His guardian looks awfully familiar to Stephanie. She looks at him like this the entire time he's making a 1 to 1 replica of Kiran:

Acid in your throat hurts so bad. A little bit different, but I hadn't eaten anything once and ended up throwing up and all I hacked up was stomach acid and it hurt so bad.
First off, realising I didn't notice this because I never read posts half the time was crazy. I was there for the art.
I'm so uncultured, I didn't know who this was and now I do. He has such a crazy story. It was definitely fun to hear, and because of that he's now my favourite artist from the past. He did not have a care in the world, it would be awesome to be in that time where people just carried around swords (well, royalty did anyway, but still cool).

i'm not american, and i just found out that in the american south there's a dessert called ambrosia that's made with whipped cream, marshmallows, pineapples, mandarins, and strawberries. since steph is from north carolina, imagine her first hearing abt ambrosia at camp and going "??? you're giving me dessert???"
And considering that (sorry to my southern Americans) it looks pretty nauseating, I imagine her exact reaction was: "You're giving me BAD dessert? Is my injury and humiliation not enough? I heard you mention ice-cream for the other kids, why am I being punished?"
Of course, this opens the possibility of someone drinking ambrosia and it tasting like ambrosia (but the other kind)
If a god eats ambrosia (the dessert), are they reminded of their ambrosia? Imagine if that's just exactly what it tastes like. Like some Demeter kid was like 'hmm yes I can recreate this taste.'
Even funnier is the fact that someone ate that and thought That's the food of the gods. My guy had never experienced any other foods, clearly.
I'm American, and I searched this up, and realised I've eaten it before without knowing what it was 🤣 except without the marshmallows. weird indeed, it's basically fruit salad with whipped cream. I guess they wanted a different name for this one bc it's a *little* different than OG fruit salad (also younger me thought 'fruit salad' was fruit and actual lettuce, my autistic ass didn't have critical thinking to realise they didn't mean literally salad).
A fruit salad is literally just a bowl of mixed cut fruit. Nothing special about that if you ask me 🤔
Maybe the guy who decided Ambrosia salad was the food of the gods was on ADHD medication. Because honestly, you could feed me slop after 10 Pm anyday and I'd also think it was divine in some way.
I take adhd meds, I don't know their side effects, but 99% of the time, I'm not hungry. If I feel hunger, chances are it's a fleeting feeling and goes away as fast as it came. But I also eat randomly even if I'm not hungry... sometimes. Eating at night? Always the best time lol
2. How do you do colouring? Like with Violetpaw, who's described as a black and white cat. I literally thought she was purple initially, but I realised cats can't actually be purple. I saw your Die Young animation before actually reading all the books (there are like a million books, and books are expensive, please bare with me). Anyways, I love your style! I think your Violetpaw design is really cute:)

If you had asked me about how to do backgrounds like a year ago I wouldn't have answered because I didn't really have a process besides fiddle around and hope and pray LOL but! now I've figured out a way I like to do it so here we gooo
I'll be using this commission I did as an example! I've also JUST posted a speedpaint of it here (lucky that i was working on this bg heavy piece when i saw ur ask!)

I used to try and paint my backgrounds, aka no lineart straight to colours, but i always hated doing it so I ended up thinking. why dont i just treat my background like im lining+colouring a character. and now it feels way more do-able!

lineart (I've been trying out using a different more textury/pencil crayon type brush to differentiate it more from my character lineart brush and i think it looks good yay)
flat colours (here the moss/leaves are on diff layer above the trees, and I'll put more layers behind for the middle trees/back-most trees/ground etc.)
Painting! aka shading. yes I still do some painting lol cause i really love the look but for me I found it way easier to paint within the structure of a lined object
colour the lineart; for backgrounds this is usually as simple as making it dark brown, but if it stands out too much (aka is distracting from the characters/main focal point) I'll colour parts of it to make it 'disappear' more
And here's my painting process, which! also goes over how i choose colours for painting:
your lines+flat colours
choose like 3-4 colours to do shading/lighting v roughly with a textury brush, make the colours overlap
Now colour pick as you paint! This gives you a much wider range of colours than the 3-4 you chose in step 2, but its much easier than like handpicking all 17 or whatever of these subtle variations.
I don't quite know how to describe painting any more than that orz so for more painting help look into yt tutorials / do studies to observe how lighting/shading affects an object
Here's a shitty phone recording of me doing step 3 in real time:
My final stage of backgrounds/the entire piece is what i call finishing/final touches. This is for atmosphere and to make every layer feel even more like they're in the same scene.
On a few layers above of almost everything else, I'll go in with an airbrush on whatever blending mode looks nice (usually overlay n multiply) with a "lighting" colour (so in this scene its like sunlight orange-yellow), and brush over areas where light hits most. And then same with a shadow colour (and/or sometimes just a unifying colour e.g. if the background is mostly red i might airbrush a bit with a red cllr if it looks good)
textures! these are ABOVE EVERY OTHER LAYER! I got my textures from CSP assets here . I'll use em with the soft light blending mode and usually turn the opacity down to 30% or lower? to make it p subtle. I usually stick with just 1 texture but this piece i went with more lol just felt like it. I also like to add some colourful noise also at soft light blend mode. (photoshop had an effect that could just Make it but csp doesn't so tbh I made it in photoshop and then exported it and have been using that same colourful noise jpg for my projects since lol n it works. u can download my noise jpg here if u wanna use it)
Also btw it's not that backgrounds without lineart are bad, far far from it, I just didn't have whatever skill possesses those background painters lmao they look so pretty n that's why I had always tried to do the same ;w; But I've managed to figure out a way that works for me and I can still get that painted look in there! So its always good to experiment and see what process works for you C:

QUESTION 2:
For your second question honestly I'm still kind of in the winging it stage lol; but I did make a small colour tutorial here
I will say about my Violetpaw: She is kind of purple in my design, which I chose specifically because of the 'violet' in her name. Or rather, it's a purplish grey that just looks white in comparison to the dark parts of her fur (which is also just. a really dark purple)
Colour is all about contrast and how it looks darker/lighter/more green/more red etc etc etc. next to another colour!
I try to avoid using pure white/black in my colours Especially for character designs because I think the tint of the "white/black" colours can add to the character's vibe/personality
But truly a lot of my process is just keep putting colours together until something looks good LOL and sometimes I'll put like a blue colour on overlay at 50% etc to see if that makes the colours work together better and sometimes it does n sometimes not
Thanks! Someone else had advised that instead of using dark colours you use some colour variation of it, I just don't know how to do that, especially with black, I used grey and it looks bad lol.
