People hate her because she’s prickly and mean but like. If she was a guy she would be the MOST beloved blorbo.
She doesn't have softening feminine characters traits, she's abrasive and cocky, she has sexual trauma and thinks the way to get over that is bury her feelings, so people fucking hate her even though those are traits they LOVE in male characters
All of her character traits (snarky, cocky, brooding but with a secret heart of gold) which would be lauded in a male character are treated as defects by fandom. She also gets hate for reporting the drug abuse and theft of a white male fave (Langdon), who exhibits all those same traits but is loved for them.
She's got it all! A snarky, cocky princess who is putting on a blustering facade despite all her secret self-loathing, and despite how much she pretends to not care, is just brimming with empathy.
She's treated like either the devil for being slightly rude (when the male characters are just as bad), or as the one-dimensional lesbian friend propping up a M/M ship
She's funny, she's smart, she's the jerk with a heart of gold archetype, she's experienced abuse and doing her best to advocate for her patients, she's a lesbian, what's not to love?
consistently called evil and a cunt and had people wish misogynistic violence on to her (ie. wanting a male character to "put her in her place", often violently) for being a woman who has trouble connecting with her peers and is blunt and arrogant and yes often rude due to past trauma
she also does have a softer side, especially for children or people who are left behind by society
she was kinda rude to a guy and also got him suspended (not even fired!) for stealing benzos from the hospital, which he was doing
beautiful butch lesbian and also 1/2 of the only canon ship, which is of course toxic yuri
She gets so much hate for doing the same shit the men do

OHHH MY GOD DONT GET ME STARTED despite her team being decently strong in the main story, as well as it being CANON AND IN THE GAME TEXT that she's the head of the paldea league where there are multiple champions, and that's she won't just want to steamroller your team BECAUSE YOUR CHARACTER IS CANONICALLY A KID. She rearranges her team so she can fight you with a handicap without having to hold back on the thing she loves, pokemon battling. it's SO COMMON to make fun of her in the fandom, calling her weak, stupid, elite five member etc. it makes me so sad. also she's such an interesting character from what other characters tell you about her. she might seem stoic or 'plain' as many (mostly men) in the fandom call her but in reality she's absent minded and she often comes into work with glimmet (a pokemon she loves) tangled in her hair, and rika (her coworker) has to help her untangle them. she's a sweetheart, she cares greatly for the older region and its people, main sure that uva/naranha academy is up to her standards so more people can find joy in getting an education and pokemon battling, even encouraging people to fight in the paldea league and try to become champions themselves. she's not the strongest, she never has been and was never stated to be either, she's the business head of the paldea league and honestly probably the closest thing to the regions president. but i swear people mostly just hate on her and make fun of her because she's a woman and brown. POKEMON FANDOM LEARN HOW TO READ!!!!!
NOBODY show this to the devs. it's clear that they are being kept in some kind of Truman Show-esque bubble where this awesome laser butch can wear only the least interesting outfits imaginable
