I saw your question thing asking how to deal with transphobic family. So I’ll try and answer. One, you can just ignore the hate they spew. Two, you can do your best to educate them which they might not appreciate but might listen. Three, you can flat out tell them that what they’re saying is making you upset and hope they stop. If none of the above work, I’d lookup coping mechanisms online, think positive thoughts about yourself, and remember that they are just uneducated. We can do this!

It’s just hard to do myself sometimes. So please don’t force it on people who have a hard time with dysphoria. But also don’t be mad at people for loving themselves!

I knew exactly who I was when I was a kid. But somewhere along the way, I was told I needed to give some parts of me up. Social standards, religion, family expectations, and school bullying all played their parts. But I’m learning how to remember who I was, and how to be as happy as I was then. I encourage you all to do the same, because this has been such an incredible and freeing process. And I am so fucking proud to be transgender. And I’m not living the next 30 years of my life pretending to be anything different than what I am.
