Your F/O is not normally a very friendly or open type of person. They can be closed off, unemotional, apathetic, or even hostile at times. Safe to say, they are not the type to find most people very appealing.
But something is different with you. At first they brushed you off like they would with anyone else, maybe they dismissed you or were even unkind. It hurt your feelings of course, but you didn't let it get to you.
While you didn't harass them, you stayed persistent. You stuck by their side, and bit by bit, they started to let their guard down around you. It didn't happen overnight, but you could see them soften over time.
They start to notice your mannerisms. How you stand, the way you fidget, the expressions you make. The phrases you use often, the food and drink they always see you eating, the things you get excited about.
Maybe in the beginning they didn't notice these things, or even found them annoying, but they start to find them endearing and even cute. They start to find that they feel warm when they think of you.
At first it irritates or surprises them when they feel this way, they possibly even fight it. But as time goes on, they can't help that they continue to fall more and more for you. Their armor breaks more and more until they can't deny to themselves that they can't help but adore you.
Your F/O is still stoic or somewhat cold to others, they're still the same person, but it's clear they have a special soft spot in their heart, just for you. 💚

3:00 in the morning. And you can't sleep. You lay awake for a while, contemplating. Should you keep trying to sleep? Or get up and do something? You really do want to fall asleep, but you can't help but feel that it's just not going to happen tonight.
So you decide to get up and make yourself a warm drink. Trying to get up as quietly as possible so as not to wake up your F/O, you slip the blanket off you and gently set your feet down. Without turning on the lights, you make your way to the kitchen managing to avoid every obstacle and creaky floorboard on the way.
The nightlight you keep in the kitchen is just enough light to work by, so you keep the kitchen light off too. You prep your cup and whatever drink you like, but warming the water is what gets you found out. The click of the appliance is loud enough to snitch on you and you cringe when you hear it.
Your F/O ambles sleepily into the kitchen. They ask you what you're doing, why you're up so late. You sheepishly explain that you couldn't sleep, and apologize for waking them, you really didn't mean to. Your F/O looks at you warmly through the lingering sleep in their eyes and tells you that you can always wake them up, you don't need to stay up all by yourself.
Once your drink is done, they get you settled on the couch, curled up with your drink in hand and nestled up by their side. They bring a digestible but comforting book out, something like the Chronicles of Narnia or Little House on the Prairie. Maybe it's for kids, but it's soothing and sweet.
They read to you for a while, you're not really sure how long. Their voice is quiet and smooth, and a certain type of tranquility fills you. Before long, you're nodding off. You don't fall asleep fully for a while, but you tiptoe the line between wake and sleep until your head finally falls completely on your F/O's shoulder. They don't make a move to get up, not wanting to wake you, they just settle in themselves for a night on the couch. It's not long before they fall asleep too, your gentle breaths lulling them to sleep too.

Sooooooo I know I disappeared for like. Four months. Whoops. I got super busy with school and hanging out with my friends and even a possible irl relationship... and some stuff happened and I've just been like. Busy.

The love your F/O has for you is undeniable. They just don’t show it in the most traditional way. It used to be a sort of insecurity or worry of yours, but now that you recognize the thought and care they put into their little actions and gestures, you never question their love for you anymore.
They struggle with showing compassion and empathy in the “typical” ways. They’re not one to shout from the rooftops, and they find large romantic gestures difficult. Maybe it’s because they didn’t grow up experiencing that kind of love, maybe they’re a naturally quiet or unemotive person. But whatever the reason, they find ways to show and make you feel their love.
You always find your favorite snacks at home, especially if you have restrictions on what you can eat. Little gifts, usually little trinkets or toys, show up randomly on your nightstand or your desk. If you complain about having to do a chore later, maybe washing the dishes or taking out the trash, you find it already done when you go to do it.
When you go shopping and you show interest in something but decide not to buy it, they secretly put in their basket and hand it to you wordlessly after paying for it. During stressful times, they'll gently pull you away from the situation when possible, making you a warm drink and maybe drawing a warm bath, whatever it take to calm you down.
Little things, not done with any fanfare or announcement. They show that your F/O cares and that they listen to what you have to say and what you think. It's quiet but solid and constant love.

Okay okay, I actually am posting again starting tonight. I've had some Stuff going on but it's mostly over with now.
Also, regarding the new update, I feel really uncomfortable with the idea of comments and tags going on my posts without me knowing. But I also know a lot of you like to reblog my posts onto your own blogs and add your own stuff in the tags.
Apparently the new update hides any notes that aren't added directly to your base post or your own repost so if a reblog of my stuff gets notes I'll have no way of seeing without manually checking.

Actual yapfest and lowkey cringe city and sorta self indulgent land so uhh beware lmao. Also most of this is my headcanons/adapted from canon so it may contradict actual canon some buuut I don't really care so.
Chara is kind of like my Stardewsona so she's kind of like me irl but we're not completely the same, so she's kinda a self insert I guess? But that's why I use third person for Chara, also because I would feel weird saying I and me through this whole post. 💀 Oh but anyways I'm gonna censor a few things so I don't reveal too much of my personal info lol.
Sebastian's backstory
Robin and Sebastian's dad met in highschool and they were really happy together until they got married. When Robin told him that she was pregnant, that's when he started the abuse.
His dad was emotionally abusive to Robin and Sebastian until Sebastian was 3. Robin was unsure of what to do until Sebastian's dad beat him severely one day (with a belt or cord or something similar), and then Robin realized she had to leave immediately.
Robin and Demetrius had been friends for a while beforehand, so he let Robin and Sebastian stay with him until they got back on their feet. Sebastian and Robin got their own apartment, but Robin and Demetrius stayed close.
Robin and Demetrius got married when Sebastian was 4 and had Maru pretty soon after.
Sebastian didn't really know what to think because he just moved from the abusive environment with his dad to this environment with a new father figure and a baby sister.
He had a hard time with all this and he didn't really adapt to seeing Demetrius as a new dad.
Eventually they moved to Pelican Town after Robin finished building the house, Sebastian was 6. Originally there were three bedrooms upstairs, the master and two smaller ones, but when Sebastian turned 13 he asked for a space of his own so they let him move into the basement. They knocked down the wall between the two smaller rooms upstairs and that became Maru's room.
Between being alone in the basement most of the time, as well as Robin and Demetrius favoring Maru because her passions were more similar to theirs, Sebastian felt alienated from the rest of his family.
Headcanons for Sebastian
Wasian, Robin is white, his dad is East Asian.
Cis man, he/him, bisexual with fem leaning preference.
5'10/178 cm tall.
Born December 10th, 2003.
Still has scars on his back from his dad. Sebastian doesn't remember the event, he was a little young to remember fully, plus he's blocked it out anyways, but the scars are a persistent reminder. Sometimes when Chara rubs his back she feels the scars and it makes her really sad, though she doesn't show it because she doesn't want to remind him.
Chubby. He sits at his computer a lot, but he's also strong in his arms because of the maintenance he does on his motorcycle.
The previous two headcanons are why he's always wearing a shirt at Ginger Island, and why he's always wearing a hoodie. He's really insecure about his body, but he starts to feel a little better about it once him and Chara have been together for a while. He still never takes his shirt off at the beach though.
Dyes his hair. It's actually naturally kind of auburn or maybe a reddish brown, but he prefers it black. Chara secretly really loves it when he lets his roots grow out, but she would never pressure him to stop dyeing his hair for her.
Since he doesn't have a canon voice, I headcanon him to sound like the angsty teen voice from FNAF sister location, except a little deeper and a little more scratchy (because of the smoking).
He actually really loves programming, but it does negatively impact his health. He has chronic pain from carpal tunnel, back pain from sitting like a shrimp, and eye pain from his eyes straining at the screens all the time.
He also has to get reading glasses when he's older because of the eyestrain from all the years of programming late at night, though he only has to wear them sometimes. They're just plain black frames, he doesn't like them but Chara thinks they're cute on him.
He's pretty good at playing the keyboard. Robin made him take lessons as a kid which he resented at the time but now he has more of an appreciation for it. Sam is also teaching him how to play the guitar.
His music taste is stuff like the Arctic Monkeys, The Neighborhood, and Glass Animals in particular, but he likes a lot of other kinds of music too.
Sebastian and Abby tried dating for a few months when they were around 16 but they felt like they really were just better as friends. Also, him and Sam kissed once when they were drunk but nothing else ever came from it, they're just platonic bros.
He actually stays really good friends with Sam and Abby, even after he and Chara get married. Chara encourages him a lot, though not in a pushy way, to stay connected with his friends. She tells him it's important, and that she doesn't want to be that wife who steals her husband away from his friends and the world.
Chara doesn't like that Sebastian smokes cigarettes but she never directly asks him to stop, Sebastian stops on his own after a few months of dating because he wants to be healthy for her.
Sebastian does drink and smoke weed occasionally after they start dating, and Chara doesn't pressure him to stop, but she does ask him to not do it around her. This means he mostly does it at the saloon or when he takes his night walks.
His relationship with Demetrius and Maru gets a lot better after he moves out of the house in the mountains and into Chara's house. Sometimes he helps Maru with programming stuff for her robots, and he helps Demetrius with that kind of stuff and tech support.
While Chara does eventually make enough money from all the animal products to support the farm fully, Sebastian still does some programming work because he doesn't want to feel like dead weight or a leech or anything (not that she would think either of those things of him if he didn't keep working!)
Chara's backstory
Her parents met in college and got married a couple years later. She was born a couple years after that.
Her parents were both really depressed when she was growing up, so Chara had to help a lot with her little brother Sprout.
They all moved a couple times but finally settled down when Chara was 13. She underwent a mental health crisis but recovered after about six months.
She went through highschool with some recurring mental health problems and went through a couple unhealthy relationships, but she made it out mostly in one piece.
Her grandfather died when she was 14 and left her the letter. She opened it X years later and moved to Pelican Town when she was XX years old.
Headcanons/facts for Chara
White, with some X heritage.
Cis woman, she/her, mostly straight.
5'5/165 cm tall.
Born X, X, 200X.
Scars on arms and legs from self harm. She's mostly over it by now but every now and then she's a little emotional/ashamed about it. Sebastian always reassures her that he loves her and nothing so small could change that.
Pretty average weight. She's healthily curvy, she could exercise more, but she's alright with her body. Sebastian thinks she's really gorgeous. Who said that...
She's almost always wearing a hoodie. Not because she's insecure or anything, they're just really comfortable and she's found some great ones at the thrift store.
Chara also lovesss thrifting. There aren't any thrift stores in Pelican Town so she has to go to Zuzu City. When Sebastian isn't busy he'll go with her, and they usually go to two or three in the city. When Chara goes by herself or with Abby, she can hit four or five.
She actually becomes really good friends with Abby. At first, Abby isn't sure what to make of her and is worried that she'll do Sebastian wrong, which Chara completely understands, but over time they bond over their love of video games and Abby sees that she's a good person with good intentions. Chara and Sam and kind of friends too, but they never really click the same way.
She's also really good friends with Robin and Evelyn. Evelyn reminds her of her own grandmother and they have lunch together once or twice a week. Robin was overjoyed when Chara and Sebastian started dating.
She's really passionate about her animals. All of them have names that suit them, and she makes sure that they're fed and pet every single day. She's praised throughout the region for the quality of her animal products.
She has a grey girl cat named X.
She's super into monster energy drinks, she drinks one every day which isn't great for her health, but there are worse habits to have. She really loves the white one, ultra vice guava, and punk punk! She also really liked the aussie lemonade until it got discontinued.
She does her classes for her degree online after she moves to the farm. She struggles with motivation at times, but she always seem to make it all work out, even if she has to submit things ten minutes before they're due.
Her degree gives her the qualifications she needs to become a therapist and she gets her certification a few years after she moves to Pelican Town. Harvey offers to let her build a room onto the clinic and work out of there as long as she provides the funds and materials, which she does.
Her main clients are Shane, Kent, and Penny and Pam. Penny and Pam come in together sometimes, but sometimes it's just one or the other. Normally it would be a conflict because they're related, but because it's such a small town and there's only one therapist, nobody makes a fuss about it.
Outside of farming and school/work, she really loves crocheting and embroidery, video games, and watching TV and movies. Her and Sebastian have a TV set up across from their bed so they watch a lot of TV and movies cuddled up in bed. They usually alternate between horror movies and sci-fi, Chara loves horror, Sebastian doesn't love it but it doesn't bother him. Sebastian likes less of the harder sci-fi, more speculative stuff than anything, which Chara is grateful for, she prefers soft sci-fi
Chara has a purse she takes with her every time she leaves the farm. It has all of her inventory in it, and she loves to decorate it with keychains, pins, embroidery, and other little additions. It has a cupholder on each side and a mini detachable purse that she uses when she only needs to carry her phone, wallet, and keys.
She loves to crochet gifts for people! Most of the birthday and Winter Star presents she gives are crocheted, and sometimes she just makes someone something because she loves them!
Her favorite band is Weezer, but she also has a lottt of other music she likes (it's really too much to list lmao).
She really likes to sing when she's alone but she's not very good at it and she gets embarrassed when other people hear her. It takes a while, but eventually she gets more comfortable singing around Sebastian.
She never thought she'd like someone enough to live with them, but she didn't think twice about letting Sebastian move in.
Chara finds out Sebastian loves frozen tears when she is leaving the mine one day and she sees him and just has the urge to give him some kind of gift. She picks a frozen tear at random, and when he tells her he loves it, she vows to get dozens of them, just to see that smile on his face again and again.
She lets Sprout come visit and stay in the guest bedroom sometimes. Sebastian is really nice to him, he teaches Sprout to program and they play video games together. It makes Chara really happy when they spend time together.
Headcanons for them together!!
Chara sometimes calls Sebastian "Seb" but not all the time, she actually really loves his full name. Sebastian calls her "Chara" most of the time. They also use some pet names, Chara likes to call him "my love" or "honey", Sebastian calls her "baby" or "sweetheart". They only use pet names in private or when no one else is around through.
Epitome of "She fell first, he fell harder". For Chara, it is love at first sight. She loves him the second she sees him, although she tries to ignore it and treat it as a crush at first. For Sebastian, he does like her at first of course, but it takes him a minute to realize just how much he feels for her. But when he does, it's an "Oh. Oh. Oh my god." moment. Funnily enough, it's talking to Sam that makes him realize his feelings for Chara aren't platonic or even a crush.
After they move in together, they actually like to slow dance pretty often to really, really slow, sometimes sad, songs. I Can't Make You Love Me by Bonnie Raitt is one of their favorites, and other songs of that genre/era. Though they also like Manhattan by Sara Bareilles, Fields of Gold (Songbird) by Eva Cassidy, My Love Mine All Mine by Mitski, and Bubblegum by Clairo in particular. Neither of them are big on dancing normally, but they fit together so perfectly and just sway.
When Sebastian moves in, Chara realizes that he's kept every single frozen tear she's ever given him, and she decides to make something of them so they're not just sitting around in a box. So she makes a tree decoration that hangs in the corner of their shared room and she hangs the frozen tears from it. She somehow manages to keep it a secret until it's finished and he gets home to see it. He loves it.
Chara usually isn't a huge overthinker, but when it comes to Sebastian, she definitely is before they're officially together. She worries that he'll find her annoying or stupid or self centered or boring or or or...
Sebastian doesn't really overthink or have that much anxiety about their relationship at all. He feels really secure in their relationship, sometimes he has worries but it's not a huge thing.
Chara's love is super loud. She's always saying I love you, I appreciate you, asking him if he's okay, showing interest in his work and his hobbies, asking him about his day every day. Maybe to some it's a little excessive but Sebastian appreciates it a lot considering he didn't get that same loud and persistent love from his family growing up. He never feels like he has to wonder how Chara feels about him, she's always telling him and showing him exactly how she feels.
Sebastian's love is loud in his own way, considering he's a quieter person than Chara is. He's always complimenting her and he loves being close to her. He listens to her talk about everything and anything and smiles and nods, replying when he feels like it. His love is more of a strong and constant type of thing, it's always there and she always feels it, even if he's not as loud about it as she is. Sometimes Chara will look over at Sebastian and he'll just be looking at her, smiling, distracted from whatever he's doing. She'll get embarrassed and playfully ask why he's staring, to which he usually says something like "I just love you" or "You're nice to look at".
They go to dinner at the carpenter's shop once or twice a week. It really helps Sebastian's relationship with his family, and Chara really loves spending time with all of them together.
The timeline of their relationship is that they become friends a couple months after Chara moves to Pelican town, they dance around their feelings for a couple months after that until they go on a date, they go on five or six dates over the course of a month before they start officially dating. Sebastian moves in with her about seven or eight months after they start dating. They get married three years after that (so about four years after Chara moves to Pelican Town).
Chara is the one who originally asks Sebastian out on the first date and she's the one who asks him to be her boyfriend. Sebastian is the one who asks her to marry him, he proposes with both a mermaid's pendant and an engagement ring.
They get married in the fall, before the leaves start to turn. so it's cool but not chilly. The wedding is small and they have it by the lake on the mountain. Sam is Sebastian's best man, Maru and Abby are Chara's bridesmaids. Chara wears a plain white sundress with a crown of daises in her hair. Sebastian wears a plain black suit with a daisy in his lapel. Chara presents him with his own mermaid's pendant during the ceremony, right after they exchange the rings.
They discuss having kids, but decide it's best if they don't. They have a lot going on and it's just really not what's best for them. Robin is a little disappointed by this, but accepts it. She does get her wish of grandkids when Maru and Penny tell her they're going to adopt.
Also, Chara is Maru's maid of honor when her and Penny get married a few years later. Sebastian can't help but glance at her every so often throughout the ceremony.
Chara and Sebastian love being an aunt and an uncle. They love to babysit and play with their nieces/nephews and love to watch them grow up. Occasionally they let them have a sleepover at the farm and spoil them with ice cream for dinner and staying up late.
