if there was anyone who was a morning person, it was selina. she was usually one of the first of her bandmates to pull herself out of bed each morning, already with a smile on her face. she had never been one for staying up too late - always falling asleep before two or three in the morning, but she was always good for being a wakeup call for everyone else. even though they didn’t live together, they had keys to each other’s homes - a key that selina used to let herself into anastasia’s house. armed with a bag of breakfast sandwiches and their favorite coffee orders, she took the familiar pathway to the kitchen, setting the food and drinks down. “stasia!” she called out, pulling the sandwiches out of the bag and placing them onto the counter. “time to get up and greet the day, miss. i know you’re already up, don’t make me drag you out of bed.”

selina! my soft lil baby. she was born as lee sunyoung in seoul, south korea to high school sweethearts. her mother unfortunately passed away in childbirth, but her father decided to raise her on his own. when she was four years old, her father fell ill and because he worked so hard to provide for her, he ignored his illness until it was too late and he passed away, leaving her as an orphan.

her only family willing/able to take her in lived in london, so the little four year old was shipped to a new country to live with her aunt. but unbeknownst to everyone else, her aunt had been living with cancer in secret. she knew that she was dying, but she didn’t want her to be placed in the system, so she took her in. 

before her sixth birthday, her aunt passed away and she was placed into the system. luckily for her, she was quickly adopted by the santinis (on her sixth birthday, no less! best birthday present)

she struggled to make friends as a child. she struggled with english for her first few years with the santinis, which made her a little insecure with talking to new people. she wasn’t made fun of or anything, she was just a little socially awkward and shy. 

like her adoptive siblings, she excelled in most things that she put her mind to. academics, languages, instruments - the santinis didn’t accept anything but the best, and selina worked hard to be the best and make her parents and siblings proud. 

she was thirteen when she had her taste of fame though. what started her career was a kids movie that gained a surprising amount of popularity. the movie was basically like the cheetah girls, and the popularity made the company who produced the movie spin a girl group out of it, much like the cheetah girls. they released two albums that were pretty lackluster and didn’t do as well as the company hoped, so they broke up when she was about fifteen. 

she was sort of in a lull after that. she had enjoyed performing and wanted to continue doing it, but she didn’t know how to go about that. 

luckily for her, in 2011 the company that managed her while she was in her former “group” told her that they were putting together a real group this time and they were interested in having her join it.

bada bing, bada boom, equilibrium was born!! 

2011 seemed to be the year of blessings and awesome opportunities for selina, because it was also the year that she got another role starring in the first season of american horror story as violet. 

since then, she’s been doing her thing with equilibrium and acting as well, but she wanted to try dipping her toes into her own solo music career, so she released ‘ocean eyes’ back in 2018. people received it well, but she hasn’t released anything since then because she’s a perfectionist and trashes pretty much everything she writes as soon as it’s done lol

personality wise, she’s the quiet type. definitely a people pleaser, and has a bad habit of letting people walk over her because she just wants to keep the peace and make everyone happy 

really comes Alive onstage. some people are pretty shocked by how different she is onstage vs offstage
