Selina simpers, lips pulling back to reveal sharp canines. She rests a clawed hand on her chin, silver stilettos tapping with a bored air. A magnetic stare focuses on the boytoy sat in front of her. She doesn’t blink.

“Honey, if I had a million dollars for every time I’ve been told that … well. Y’know.” She quips, offering a shrug. Still the cat leans in, black lacquered lips pursing, closing the space between the two of them til she can hear the hitch in his breath. “ But let me guess, you’re nothing like those other guys, right baby? You’d never do that. ”

I do keep Selina’s background of being a sex worker but she would never become the leader of a prostitution ring idk why they would actually write that

“ Que dramático. ” she snips; still, her mouth feels dry, swabbed out with a wad of cotton. He’s dramatic, yes — but she wouldn’t consider joking his forte. He stands in undiluted seriousness, his lips pulled into a tight line, so solemn she could almost mistake him for a gargoyle perched upon the church. Cemented and unwavering is he in his dedication.

Selina circles now, holding her leather tail to her chest coyly. “ C’mon baby, you’re gonna leave without lettin’ me see that face? You know what they say about cats and curiosity, don’t you?” She’s biding for time now, and she hates it. She hates that he wants to end their little game. She hates that she feels upset about it, that she’s allowed him to get even an inch beneath her skin.

Selina scoffs at his audacity, snatching the light with a loud tsk, before tossing it beneath her leather heeled boot. She enjoys the crushing of the filter, the tobacco spreading against the asphalt to Holland’s dismay. “ Bad boy — You’re supposed t’wait for my answer. ” She simpers, long claws scrapping the fuzz upon his chin. A small smack is given, red tinge warning his left cheek— and she’s satisfied.

Above them, florescent lights flicker on and off, emitting a low hum that blends in with the city ambiance — a beautiful orchestra of honks and shouts and the occasional gunshot. She doesn’t shiver, just sidles closer to the detective, sizing him up with a feline stare. Last resort — Selina thinks. Anything to avoid meeting with the Bat. Not when they aren’t exactly on good terms.

“ I got a friend. And see, she’s real good at hide and seek.” The cat drawls, unwinding her ball of yarn. She dances within the shadows, just nearly out of view, offering him only the smallest pleasure of her appearance.

“ Heard you’ve got experience dealin’ with problems like mine. ”

❛❛ didn't ask y'to the first time. ❜❜ grimace pulls white, far-from-porcelain face paint off of her jowls, which shriek at the feline's words —— the greens of her sleeves flutter; she walks past crookedly due to the crack in her heel, an attempt to recover is flouted by spite, and she spits a fat loogie a fatal 30 thousand foot drop down, 𝐬𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐭 𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨. ❛❛ i'm not that hard to find anyway, stop y'worryin', pretty kitty. ❜❜ the sound of helicopters gets louder, as with the whirring of the wind. coated neck twists back to selina before the rest of her twiggish body, fiendishly worrisome as her fingers twinkle and her eyes meet the cat's.

It’s always like this with Harley. Loud & abrasive, a never ending game of tug and pull. Selina sighs, a gloved hand pressed against her head, irritation diluted with worry. “ I’m not playin’ with you Harls. Y’wanna waste your life with that white clown? Be my guest, honey. But when he decides you’re disposable again — I’m not fucking bailing you out. ” Maybe her bite is too sharp, her claws sunken too deep. But cats and clowns don’t mix — and Selina’s had her fill of the pale and dysfunctional.

Her gaze softens slightly, watching Harley teeter upon the high rise. Selina can’t help it — she’s a girl’s girl at heart, no matter the bad choices Harley seems keen on making.

“ Hm. ” A beat.

“ C’mon baby. I’ve already got the couch made up. ”
