A thousand thanks to our judging panel, Bobby Joseph, Damon Herd and Nyla Ahmad - their experience and comics knowledge has been absolutely priceless, and I'm so grateful to them for donating their valuable time towards this award.

We also currently have a free-entry exhibition running in Edinburgh at La Belle Adventure Bookshop until 15 December, showcasing the fantastic art of all the comics shortlisted for this year's awards. Be sure to drop by if you're in the area - and perhaps pick up a few comics while you're at it!

Our final award judging panel are now reviewing the shortlisted comics, and we'll be doing a feature on our judges within the next two weeks. In the meantime, be sure to check out the shortlisted comics, and check out the website for information on how to attend our final award ceremony!

Are you a comic creator based in Scotland who has published a comic in the last 12 months? If so, the newly formed Selkie Awards wants to hear from you!

Inspired by the Scottish Independent Comic Book Alliance (SICBA) Awards, this award aims to celebrate the wealth of talent in the Scottish comic book scene. We welcome submissions of both short comics and graphic novels, ongoing series and standalone stories.

Applications are now open until 23 August 2024. For more details, including information on how to apply, check out our website!
