I am a very lucky person, and managed to get a ticket to see °C-ute for the first and last time at the afternoon show of their °Celebration concert at Nakano Sun Plaza yesterday!! Spoilers under the cut. I wasn't sure what it'd be like sitting in the upper balcony, especially…
The long, more detailed version of my experience seeing °C-ute’s concert
Translated Maimi's blog post from April 7, 2017. I'll admit that I cried a little reading about her talking about °C-ute's last single getting second on the Oricon charts (which is an amazing feat still!!!), and how thankful she is, but I wish we could have pushed even harder to…
I translated Maimi's blog post from March 29th, 2017 about °C-ute's final single release! She talks about the feelings behind each song, as well as her thoughts about the upcoming final concert at Saitama Super Arena. Sorry I haven’t been updating that much recently. (…
Airi graduated from Keio University yesterday, and I'm so proud of her!! (I cried when I saw the photos wwww) I translated her blog post about it! E-very-oooone!!!! Suzuki Airi safely graduated from Keio University!!! [picture] I got to attend the graduation ceremony and it was a wonderful…
I purposely kept myself a little bit in the dark about °C-ute's last single because I wanted to savour all of the emotions so I actually didn't know that SHOCK EYE was writing one of the songs for this single. (I had hoped that he would, and I'm very glad that my wish came true.)…
I translated Tsunku's blog from Oct 13, 2016 regarding writing one of the songs for °C-ute's 30th single. It was around spring of this year when the leader [of °C-ute] Yajima contacted me and said, "We've been thinking about the future, and after discussing with each…
I actually translated this song when DEAR. first came out, but didn't get the chance to upload it until now. This was my first time translating a song like this, and as expected it was a different kind of challenge than I was used to. I kind of hate to admit it, but this song is possibly my…
Uploading the translation I did of My Girl that I actually finished shortly after the album was released, but didn’t upload it until now. c’:
I translated Maimi’s blog post from 2016-10-01 23:18:27:
Good evening!
It’s a little sudden, but I have an announcement for everyone!
One of the songs from our new (Triple-A side) single being released on November 2nd, “Mugen Climax”...
was made for us by Oomori Seiko.
When I first listened to the demo tape I didn’t notice this, but when we received the final version I was told that, “Actually, if you look closely at the lyric sheet, you’ll see the names of the current and past members of °C-ute!!”
When looking at the lyric sheet closely,
Ah! Here!!
And here too!!
The names of the 8 members surfaced.
It seems that Oomori-san has often gone to Hello! Project concerts until now,
and her putting the names of all of the members into the lyrics [of this song] really conveys love, and it made me so happy.
We mentioned this before at our Budoukan performance on September 5th, on that day the 3 former members came to see us. When they found out that all of our names were in the lyrics, they were all very surprised!!!! (^^)
Just like the costumes that go with it, it’s a reeeeeally cool song,
so from now on we’ll treasure it and treasure it while we sing it.
Oomori-san, thank you very much!!
Please look forward to our first performance of it.
Well then, thank you for all of your hard work today!!
They’re sitting on a rooftop at midnight, looking over the city that they protect when Ladybug brings up the question that has been plaguing her mind for weeks.
“Do you believe in reincarnation, Chat?”
If he’s wondering where this seemingly random statement came from he doesn’t show it, opting to answer without hesitation. “I suppose it’s possible. If a pair of superheroes with magical powers can exist, reincarnation can probably happen too.”
He turns to look at her, studying her face intently, and Ladybug feels an ache in her chest, but she doesn’t understand why. “If you’re worried that we won’t be together in the next life, don’t. I’ll find you no matter who or where you are, my lady.”
He wants to tell her that it’s okay to take a break from patrolling sometimes. He’s noticed that she’s been more tired lately, possibly due to something in her civilian life. He couldn’t pry, of course. He also couldn’t convince her to not push herself too hard because she’s so stubborn.
Maybe I’d look at Chat Noir differently if Adrien didn’t exist.
Marinette had told herself that once. Yet here she was in a world where Adrien (thankfully) still existed, a folder full of pictures of Chat Noir in her hands.
“This doesn’t mean anything. I have plenty of pictures of my friends. This isn’t any different.”
It felt like a lie to say that.
Because it was, she realized.
She had convinced herself that she would never think of Chat Noir as more than her crime fighting partner, her teammate…he was one of her best friends. But then she had started collecting the pictures with the rationale of keeping track of the battles she had against the akuma. But with each photograph she tucked away, that obnoxious alley cat wormed his way deeper into her heart, leaving her with a three-inch thick pile of conflicted feelings.
Her eyes traced her room, wandering over the multitude of magazine clippings tacked to her walls depicting a boy with green eyes and a gentle smile. Most other nights, she felt warm looking at those images, but tonight she only had frigid guilt settling into her bones as her line of sight drifted back down to another boy with electric green eyes.
“I’m such an idiot,” she whispered, closing the folder and tucking it away in a place nobody could see it. Especially herself.
She had already broken her promise to not look at Chat Noir differently, but that didn’t mean he had to know. Nobody did.
A while ago, nanielavnz gave me a link to this article, and something about it made me want to write Sheelos drabbles to them, which resulted in this monster that I wrote on and off over the span of months. Now it’s finally finished, and I’m actually quite fond of it.
I ended up setting it in a modern AU in which Zelos and Sheena are college students and they live in an apartment complex as neighbours. (I might expand on this AU one day. I might not. Who knows? It’s been living in my brain for a while.)
