For as long as he could remember, the elders in the village always spoke of the monster called Eleazar, sealed beyond the Thorny Woods. A creature so dreadful that none dared venture past the wall of crimson vines said to keep the thing inside. Feofan Sergeyevich Veksel never believed a word of it. But during one fateful bitter winter, he discovers that old tales are seldom lies. Only… they are rarely told as they truly happened.
