I spent the last 2 days cleaning and organizing Kraken's room. He had kept every article of clothing since middle school (13 years ago) but surprisingly, did not have very much in terms of stuff like books or games. I cluttered similar things into the same areas and tried to provide zones for laundry, school supplies etc. Kraken's closet was a under utilized space. I didn't take any before pictures for potential blackmail purposes, but let's just say that the shelves weren't used much and clothes were strewn everywhere. The current system we have in place is based on the grey bins: a bin for socks, a bin for boxers, a bin for shirts, a bin for jeans, and a bin for shorts and black jeans. Based on this, we created a capsule wardrobe with enough room that he won't even have to fold his clothes. All regular clothing items can be washed together so we can minimize the hassle of laundry. The hung clothes are the fancy duds in anticipation of interviews and dapper date nights. A TV Stand became a great shoe rack and storage for spare computer parts. @new_minimalism was right, plastic bins rock, the plastic dresser is a necessary evil at the moment. Baby steps.
