Born December 16, 1901, anthropologist Margaret Mead first came to the American Museum of Natural History at the age of 25, in 1926, just after spending nine months in Samoa doing fieldwork. Mead remained at the Museum for nearly five decades, becoming one of the most influential social scientists of the 20th century.

Uruguay has become the first country to completely legalize the use of marijuana in every stage. Sale and production of it. From growing, to selling, to buying, to smoking it, it is now legal for Uruguayans throughout the entire country. There are still some government regulations and restriction though. Uruguayans who use marijuana will now be allowed to buy a maximum of 40 grams of weed each month from state-regulated pharmacies as long as they are over the age of 18 and registered on a government database that will monitor their monthly purchases. And now that it’s legal to cultivate and distribute, Uruguayans will also be able to grow up to six plants in their home per year. The bill which legalized this, was first passed in the lower house of the General Assembly last July and has just passed in the country’s Senate. This new move is also an effort to reduce the crime in the country.
