hi, i kinda forgot about this blog for a while. i’m not even sure what I’m doing back. 

I’m in my 4th semester of university, and getting deeper into my civil engineering courses. I’ve liked most of them so far. My favorite is currently hydraulics! Sometimes I get overwhelmed with all the things I don’t know, but I’m really excited to learn about them. Today I volunteered at the engineering career fair and spent 8.5 hours at the convention center running around helping people and talking to a handful of companies here and there. I really want to find a summer internship related to water resources. I’m so exhausted now, I just want to sleep.

I have barely posted any of my own pictures on this blog so here are some of my lovely times with family and friends. (if you click on each one you can read the captions)

This feels like the most productive summer of my life and it’s only JUNE.

I went running for the first time today and it felt good even though it was 85F and 88% humidity (NC weather, I tell ya). I’m working on getting my heart back in shape. I’ve been climbing a few times a week at the climbing gym in Raleigh, but I stopped running since Ultimate Frisbee season ended. 

I’ve been waking up at 6:30am everyday. I am taking a summer class and doing research for a professor. After all the background research I did the past two weeks, I’m actually designing the experiment now! So many things to consider before testing. My brain feels like scrambled eggs.

I started playing violin for my church’s worship band on Sundays. I’ve only done it once so far, but it was so much fun and I loved it. God is so good. My church is in Spanish, and it’s very small (less than 30 people at this service), but it feels like home. It’s nice to be a part of a community of believers, especially one that is not part of NC State. I love NCSU, but I also really love getting off campus, and this church allows me to do that. Me encanta la atmosfera familiar de esta iglesia. ¡Gloria a Dios! A veces no puedo creer como mi vida ha cambiado en solo tres meses. Cambié mi concentración, encontré la iglesia, empecé mi trabajo de investigaciones, y estoy viviendo con una linda familia unos 30 minutes de campus. Aunque extraño a mi familia un poquito, he encontrado otro aquí en Raleigh.

Estoy aprendiendo como tocar el violin con esta cancion. Voy a tocar en frente del lider de alabanza para la iglesica que asisto ahora. Estoy un poco nerviosa, pero muy emocionada por todo lo que Dios esta haciendo en mi vida ahora.
