Glenn Close as Norma Desmond in the final moments of Sunset Boulevard, descending the staircase for her last, delusional close-up. Close originated the role in the revised American production in Los Angeles in December 1993, before bringing it to Broadway at the Minskoff Theatre, where it ran from November 17, 1994, to March 22, 1997. Andrew Lloyd Webber’s lavish musical adaptation of Billy Wilder’s 1950 film became one of the great theatrical spectacles of the 1990s, winning seven Tony Awards in 1995, including Best Musical and Best Actress in a Musical for Close.

"Why do you talk so much about being intersex?"
Over 90% of parents of visibly intersex children opt for cosmetic surgery on their infants.
The ones that don't experience medical violence then, likely experience it as a teenager.
I didn't.
I am very rare in that I did not experience medical violence.
Why? Because I learned what intersexuality was as a young age, and I actively fought against what doctors wanted to do to me. All the way down to legal research on what medical care minors can be forced into. I remember walking into that doctor's appointment with the state law written down that proved that if I did not consent they could not do surgery.
That is why intersex activism is important. It saved me and it will save more.
when i was a kid i decided that killing people was bad therefore war was bad therefore the military was evil. and adults would tell me it's more nuanced than that and i would understand when i grew up. well i'm a grown up now and idk i still think that killing people is bad and war is bad and the military is evil
