“But doesn’t that sort of take away some of the magic from it? Like… you’re supposed to start decorating close to Christmas for a reason, to me it almost feels as if half of the magic has already passed by the time the holiday itself starts.” And oh yes if she wasn’t familiar with people rushing places to get the Christmas shopping done for, especially last minute. Although she didn’t participate personally, she obviously had friends who did and the stress seemed to shallow the mere joy the holiday was supposed to bring. It was all about saving money and having lavish meals done on time.Â
“Holidays shouldn’t be making you anxious, right? Geez. I don’t mind all the glitter and stuff, though, it can be really cute once done right. Makes the season less dull.” And that, she needed. Winter was a horrible season for someone like herself, the darkness quickly to pull down and heavy her mood. No, she was already counting the weeks until spring came back around.
“No! Not at all. Not to me at least. I love holidays and to me, the joy and Christmas cheer can start any time and last for as long as I like.” Sloan laughed lightly and shrugged. “I don’t know. I had a big family. Grew up always going all out for every holiday I guess. So I'm used to it. Kind of don’t know it any other way.”Â
“Correct, correct. Which is precisely why I'm trying to get as much done now as I can.” Sloan narrowed her eyes at the woman, “Oh! I remember you.” Sloan perked up, suddenly the slightly hazy night rushing back to her memory. “Hmm...we met briefly at the Halloween party. I’m sorry I didn’t catch your name.” She paused waiting for the response before waving down to the other woman's many bags. “Doing some uh...light shopping of yourself I see.” She joked.Â
