that's not how anything works. if you live in the US, if you pay taxes, if you are using a cell phone, if you drive or ride in a car, if you own anything with a rechargeable battery, you're technically complicit in war crimes.

not voting for Harris is, in effect, a vote for Trump. (mathematically you could argue it's half a vote for Trump but that's still voting for Trump)

I heard a National Parks employee a couple weeks ago say he wasn't sure the National Park Service could survive another Trump presidency. Federal agencies across the government are racing to get money out the door before January - EPA climate justice grants. USDA grants to Black and Indigenous farmers. immigration courts are racing to process as many citizenship applications as possible before January.

They're doing this because they know what will happen if Trump is elected again. We all know. Because we've done this before. There's no "he's just saying stuff he won't actually DO anything" this time around.

Not voting does not keep your hands clean. Not voting is not a principled stand for anything. If you have the ability to vote and choose not to, you have if anything increased the amount of blood on your hands.

WHAT ARE TEA BLOGS?

Tea blogs are a bunch of cesspool gossip/rumor/toxicity blogs from 2019-2020 centered around shit-talking and “criticizing” Jacksepticeye, Markiplier, Ethan Nestor, and anyone affiliated with them.

They are known to stalk, harass, and bully anyone that speaks out against them or supports the content creators they talk negatively about.

I was one such victim. They even made alts I couldn’t block in order to harass me AND one made a throwaway joke blog using my profile picture (which meant they were stealing my friends art) with clown stuff edited over it. It was made purely to shit on me for being outspoken against tea blogs.

WHAT SHOULD I DO ABOUT THESE BLOGS?

Block, do not interact whatsoever. Do not lecture them, do not send them hate, do not do ANYTHING but block them on every blog you own. They want attention of any kind, DO NOT give it to them.

As an additional measure for my fellow browser Tumblr users, you can download the extension “Tumblr Savior,” which will allow you to not only blacklist keywords but also URLs, which will remove and block those blogs and their posts from crossing your dash. You can also blacklist the URLs under Tumblr’s built-in blocking settings.

CAN I DO ANYTHING TO HELP?

Reblog or Reply to this post with any additional tea blogs you know of with “@/” so you don’t actually tag them. I will edit and update the OP of this post with URLs so you can find them neatly instead of hunting through the notes!

Support the BBC for having a trans character in recent episodes of 'Doctor Who'

Apparently the BBC (UK) has had 144 complaints about a recent episode of Doctor Who because it contained an openly trans character.

I've made a complaint to the BBC that there weren't enough transgender characters in Doctor Who. I would love if 144 other people did the same thing. Here's the link: https://www.bbc.co.uk/contact/complaints/make-a-complaint/#/Complaint

(For your easy reference: "The Star Beast" aired on 25/11/2023 on BBC One, and the trans character is called Rose.)

Please note that the complaint form asks for your UK postcode, so only UK folks can join in with this - but if you suspect you might have any UK-based followers, maybe give us a reblog to boost the signal?

Edit: I'm told that you can fill in the form even if you're outside of the UK, because the BBC provide service to many countries other than the UK, including the USA! Go for it. :D

Avoid sarcasm or irony. Assume your post will be taken literally. If you are clearly joking or being mean you will be ignored or misunderstood.

Include some gratitude/appreciation. It's pretty great that they included a trans woman in a positive way, and they should know that they have explicit support for that.

Edit again: I'm seeing some concerns in the replies/reblogs that the BBC might not distinguish between "less trans people, please" complaints and "more trans people, please" complaints. Rest assured, this is nothing to worry about - the BBC publish fortnightly complaint reports, and they do pay enough attention to know when a complaint is in favour of or against trans inclusion. In fact, their 20 November – 3 December 2023 report is where the various news articles are getting the 144 complaints figure; that report says there were precisely 144 complaints that they have categorised as "Anti-male / inappropriate inclusion of transgender character".

That means the next complaints fortnight window is 4 December - 17 December. We have 8 more days to beat 144. By my count, over Tumblr, WhatsApp, the Fediverse and Telegram, we have 85 so far, which is well over halfway there.

Also, when you've done it, please reply to confirm you have done it, so that I can count us!

@alphomegamaster this isn’t about letting nostalgia blind people. This is about how people devalue voice actors. Charles Martinet has been a VA for 30 years and a lot of people have boiled down his experience to him saying a few phrases when in reality, he has done a lot more including one of the most dialog heavy scenes in a video game as Paarthurnax in Skyrim. He has range because he is good voice actor

Saying that he can’t voice Mario for the length of a motion picture is short sighted at best and frankly, insulting at worst. He would be working alongside the voice director as well as using his years as a VA to both convey the right voice and emotions that the scenes need.

But hey, if you’re happy to have Chris Pratt play Mario as the Everyman as he did with Emmit in the Lego Movie, then all the more power to you. But I must point out, the movie is called SUPER Mario Bros. Not Average Mario Bros. It deserves everyone making an effort.

I'm not defending Chris Pratt or saying Charles couldn't pull off a movie. I'm saying let something new happen! Let someone try new things! And if it's bad, who cares as long as they are proud of it?! I gave examples of transformers animated and rise of the teenage mutant ninja turtles because they took something so concretely established and close to people, and dared to be something almost completely different, and they were amazing because of it! Sure, Chris Pratt might not be the best choice, and I'd like to see more new talent in animation, but what's so wrong with being glad that we are getting a movie that gets LITERALLY EVERYTHING ELSE RIGHT?! Charles is great, Mario wouldn't be as popular as he is now without him. But have you ever stopped to think that maybe if he wanted to do a movie with that voice he would? That may be Nintendo went to him first?

Yes those examples are amazing and it’s because the designers, animators and VAs involved knew to put in the effort and make sure those very much loved franchises were passed into good hands.

The same can be said about Ben Schwartz voicing Sonic. He got the tone right due to being very aware of what it means to carry that character.

As for trying something new, do really you think that Illumination had a lot sway on how the worlds and characters looked under Nintendo’s intense gaze? Come on now. They would have been under immense pressure to get it right from the game company’s perspective during the development, let alone the audience seeing the trailer.

Even if Charles has turned down the chance to play Mario, they made a terrible decision to cast Chris Pratt as the main man and one they that probably fought for under the belief of “Star Power” pulling people in when it’s not needed considering that even people who couldn’t give two shits about video games still know who Mario is. He brings nothing to the character other than making him sound bored.

People aren’t joking when they say Twitter and tiktok are 2016 tumblr….

Ok so Chase is in the role of horse and all the other egos are centaurs. I do have the centaurs designs done, just not the human/monster designs finalized (also spoilers for all of Centaurworld) ((and sorry this is long))

(I'm very proud of their designs and I think I got pretty close to the show style :]) Here's a little bit about them!

Jackie is a foxtaur :D he's still a very energetic himbo with a heart of gold and a dumb of ass, now in canid man form 💖 He's the mom friend of this au and he makes sure no one accidentally dies or does some thing dangerous. (Don't let that fool you, he's still an idiot) He also has infinite storage in his tail and makes the best cuddle buddy :]

Marvin is a cataur (bc what else would he be) and he has the most practical magic and the most knowledge on Centaurworld as a whole and about the minotaur/centaur war. He gives all the exposition and is the one who tells Chase about the rift and the key to get back to the human world and all that. He and Jackie are also boyfriends in this au :] I make the rules.

Jamie is a bunnytaur :DD!!! I put the most thought into his design cause he's supposed to be like a cartoon character from the 1910s with the little pie eyes :] He's still mute in this au and talks with little word cards he pulls up all the time (that's one of his spells)((he also has another spell called "too many hats" where he has too many hats)) he used to be part of a traveling caravan but he kept being patronized so he jumped out the window and flew off into the wind like tails from sonic the hedgehog. He's kinda the most unhinged out of all of them. He's allowed to, I'm letting him be unhinged. When he's tired, he'll just ride on one of the others :]

Schneep is a Sheeptaur :D I still don't really know what I wanna do with him yet. Idk his deal, he's kinda just there for now. Idk if I wanna lean more towards canon or my own version of him. He's very fun to draw tho :]

And Angus is a kangarootaur :DDD! Haha get it bc Australia. He's also super fun to draw, his tits are just fully out. He's kinda not an official member of their little pack/herd/friend group cause he's really stubborn and he wants to go his own way or whatever like he's in high school musical, but everyone else is forcing him to be in the friend group wether he is grumpy about it or not. He doesn't do a lot of spells or magic, he prefers punching. He loves punching. He's got 4 arms to punch with. And a pouch :] he keeps... Things... In there.... You decide what's in there

Chase is an archer and soldier in the minotaur/human war since there literally wasn't any other choice with his partner Stacy :] He's an anxious depressed 32 y/o man who is Not having a good time in this new environment but eventually, he'll be ok :3 he has pretty much the same character arch as horse, just an average guy with a bunch of stupid animal man friends

Stacy takes the role of Rider in this and is unfortunately not on screen most of the time, but whenever she is she's badass as fuck. She's a very skilled swordsman and she's very buff and strong and I love women

Gonna lump character Jack, Anti and The Nowhere king in one paragraph cause this is too long and I've been writing for an hour. So Jack filles the roll of the Mysterious Woman, being a cryptic little magic gremlin and a horrible roommate doing a bunch of bullshit and causing problems and having deeply rooted relationship problems with The General, who used to be his cute deer centaur crush, but he decided to split himself in two bc he had self esteem issues and didn't know Jack was a monster fucker :( Anyway, Anti has the same arc as The General/The Nowhere King/Elk/Elktaur but instead of him being a rift worker, he's a little dumpster guy and Jack was just like 😳 woah

I also had an idea for Robbie where he would be in the same position as Stabby where he's a minotaur that gets centaurworld-ified and Becomes Baby and he's a little opossum that Angus adopts :]

Even before everything else this garbage person says, this is a breach of employment policy and a MASSIVE red flag. The purpose of CCTV in a workplace is for safety of staff and customers as well as being used as visual evidence if a crime has been committed. It should never be used to spy on staff and monitor their performance.

I had that happen to me. Luckily I knew the security manager really well so I knew the rules. I had a floor manger come out from the back and berate me for chatting to another colleague. The only way he would have seen that would be checking the cameras. I challenged him, knowing there was no way he had stood on the shop floor and watched it happen as I would have seen him. He starting getting flustered and his face went bright red. I reminded him of the actual purposes of the cameras and how checking up on staff is an abuse of those purposes.
