iStat Menus is a great app to show all different kinds of information on your menu bar.
I use it to customise the different battery states of my Macbook:
Software to warm up your computer display at night, to match your indoor lighting.
f.lux is software of Mac and iOS (Jailbreak required) that warms up your display during the night. I've been using it for the last couple years and it really helps if you're constantly working on a computer. Because I have used it for so long, sitting in a yellowy room now makes me drowsy :)
If you're like me and like to customise your mac, boy do I have a tool for you ;) Geektool enables you to lock images to your desktop and run scripts to show output on your screen, it is a lot like Rainmeter for windows.
There will come a time when all your passwords are mostly the same, when that happens 1Password is pretty usefull, it enables more secure passwords by saving them all in secure place
Disorganised files are no longer a problem with arRsync, I used it to merge two folders together, they where two parts of a backup that had become seperated and it worked beautifully
VLC is the best overall player for almost any platform and I've used it with pleasure for many years, until I found MPlayerX for the mac, it is just like VLC but it is better in a few ways, the fullscreen support is just that much better, the interface is more "Mac" like and the settings are a lot more clear, which is golden for someone who likes to try out every setting :)
Pasted text has weird and annoying formatting?
Try using the command+shift+v shortcut instead of the command+v shortcurt. For most programs that means paste without formatting.
I don't like clutter so to make my bookmarks bar more beautiful I use these seperators to order my stuff
Because I don't like to waste time, I use iStat Menus to show how much time is left on my current battery usage.
When my battery is charging it show how much percentage it is charged and when it is charged it just shows a green battery.
Ahoy mate, would you like t' try this app?
Adobe has provided us a great service by making all their applications crackable by only one file.
Installation - Copy the file as show in the gif
You can get the applications by downloading the trial via Adobe Cloud
While I'm waiting for a Moom crack to arrive, there is my old way of doing window resizing. Spectacle is a lovely small app that enables me to quickly move my windows all over my workspace.
I love working fast, resizing windows quickly is a necessity, this is where Moom comes in.
Unfortunaly there is not yet a downloadable version that works on mavericks so for now we have to work with the trial.
For those on mountain lion
Want to watch the american netflix, here you go!
Please install this on a browser that you don't regularly use, I don't trust plugins that mess with the way stuff is send across the web, use with caution
Often when you're installing a lot of tweaks and useful stuff on your mac you will find your menubar cluttered with items. Bartender is one of the best apps to clean this stuff up.
Bartender
This tool has been on my wish list for quite a while. When I saw the kickstarter campaign I realised this could finally be a useful "what you see is what you get" editor because it is necessary to actually know html to use it properly. I recommend watching the introductory video and then try it out yourself.
The beta is available on the pirate bay
