Cool Evening Air || Séraphine and Victoria (End of Setptemberish?)
A smug grin passed over Victoria’s face as she noticed the Faerie blush at her teasing; it was quite entertaining to know that it was possible to ruffle the other woman’s feathers after all. But she refrained from commenting on it further, at least for now.
She walked them along at a moderate pace, they were in no rush for a change something uncommon for both of them probably, and she wanted to enjoy this evening stroll as much as possible. She also wanted as many people as possible to see them being friendly together; showing that the different species could get along splendidly and she wanted them to see that they were not worried, enjoying an evening stroll and that they didn’t need to worry too.
Of course they couldn’t talk about any of the really pressing matters in public and therefore she continued to do some small talk while they were walking down on the sidewalk towards the Bohemian Caverns. Opening the door for them since the club was officially still closed she let the Faerie enter first and locked the door behind them again before she led her towards the back and her office. Here the repeated the procedure, opening the door, letting Seraphine in and locking the door behind them before turning on some low lights.
“Please have a seat,” she said gesturing towards the couch while she moved over towards the bar. “Can I offer you something to drink ma cherie? Or something to eat? I can order something from the kitchen for you,” she asked while she poured herself a cognac. “No need to be all formal about this right?”
The small talk took almost nearly no effort to carry on. As they passed people, fae and humans alike, it was entertaining to see the number of looks they received. All of the fae knew the both of them, of course (and it was much more important that the fae see the leaders being not just cordial, but friendly). However, a significant number of the humans recognized Séraphine. Then again, she reasoned, it was possible that people were recognizing Victoria from her bartending and performances at the Caverns. Séraphine didn’t know off the top of her head how popular the club was, but it usually seemed busy as far as she was aware.
Séraphine smiled at the cavern-looking room: if you told a human that a vampire was the owner of the club, they might not actually be too terribly surprised, given the cultural notions of vampires these days. Soon enough, though, they found themselves in Victoria’s office. Nodding her thanks, she took a seat on the couch.
“Whatever you’re drinking is just fine, thank you,” she said since she saw Victoria pouring some sort of alcohol into a tumbler for herself. “I’m not terribly hungry at the moment, though, so I’ll pass for now.” That wasn’t untrue, but neither did Séraphine want to eat in front of the vampire; it wouldn’t be right.
Although Séraphine was a very formal person nearly all the time, even she found it nice to at least look like she was relaxing. She was always at least a little on guard when dealing with other council members, though, since Séraphine knew that they all had their own agendas, in the end. “No need to be formal,” she replied with a smile. “So much has happened lately, I almost don’t even know where to start, though.”
