I am writing to you in the urgent manner of you needing to write your own essays. Now that literally anyone else stopped reading after the first half of the first sentence, I found it one hundred percent necessary to talk shit about James. Just kidding, but between you and I, Peter seems a little too enamoured with James. I don’t want to bring it up, but do you think we need to get him to see the ladies or other lads at the very least?

Like you’d ever stop writing my essays for me. As if. You admire and adore me too much. 

I would never shit talk James, what are you on about? HAHAHA. Bloody hell, could you imagine? But yes, on to serious business. Peter is in need of a lady friend. Or a gentleman friend. Does Wormtail swing that way? Both ways? Either way, we will have to find him someone. 

Who are you thinking? One of the girls in our house? Or maybe he’d like someone older. Who doesn’t dream of having older, stronger, more responsible men hold them tight in the night?

Respond with names of people we should consider. We need a list to narrow down, to find him perfect sweetie for our little rat prince. I believe you are the best for this job.

As soon as you learn Oxford English, I'm gonna stop writing your essays for you, and as that will never happen, our handwriting is identical.

I'm sure James wouldn't mind if he knew it was for the greater good. The greater good being deterring any unwanted eyes from our scheme to get Peter a lass or lad. I'm not sure which side of the fence he's on, but regardless, I think we can agree they should be a Hufflepuff. In hopes they won't be nearly as judgemental as other pickier houses. No way he could ever get a Slytherin, not to out him down of course, but he's not quite as ambition driven as they might want.

So names that we can't compile most definitely would be Slytherins and Ravenclaws. I'm thinking along the lines of Amelia Bones, or Dorcas Meadows.

Mischief Managed Event

Hello! Halloween is just around the corner, which means its time for an event! After some long deliberation, the admins have decided to host an in character Ball! Dumbledore realizes that things are getting darker, more tense, so he decided a fun dance would help ease the tension. There’s a theme, that Dumbledore thought would be amusing, and that is the French Revolution. Dead or Alive. Your muse if they decide to attend the ball, must come dressed in a costume that follows the theme. 

Now, this brings a few changes in our literacy policy. Only on October 31st, which is the date of the ball, you may do sentence threads. Meaning that you don’t have to type out long paragraphs if you just want to have a conversation in character with someone. Also, threads do not have to be contained to day of the Ball, which means you can start a thread that takes place at the ball earlier than the ball date.  

However, keep your eyes peeled. You never know what could happen, after all. Voldemort is on the rise.

Words Only Said in Confidence | Remus & James | Oct 6th |

Rainy days have always been among Remus’ favorite days; on these days it was socially acceptable to stay inside. While his best mates were out at Quidditch practice, he made himself a nest on a window seat in his dorm, wrapped in a knitted blanket with a good book and a cup of earl grey. A comfortable way to spend the day; and for a couple of hours he got to have that. Until James came back, damp, muddy, stinky, and in the bunets opinion, he needed a shower, but that didn’t stop him from sitting down and putting feet that looked as though they’d been through trench warfare, on the lycan’s lap. Why? He had no idea, but James often bothered him at times like this, bothered him at all times, really. It shattered the warm bubble he put himself in, and dirtied his blanket. 

Setting his tea on an end table, in hopes it will be safe from James when set away. Since he couldn’t exactly continue reading the Stephen King book he smuggled into the school with this obstacle of sorts; it’s bookmarked and set face down beside the tea. Remus wasn’t a fan of people knowing enough about whatever he was reading to bother him about it. “Is practice over so soon?” He asked, his green eyes scanning for anyone else who may have entered while he was transfixed on the pages of his book. Not seeing anyone else, he fixes his eyes on the troublemaker, his brother by loyalty. “Or did you get in trouble and get sent back early?” He was pretty sure that even James took Quidditch semi-seriously, but even that could never be put past him. 

The more he tried to read the other male’s face, he was drawing blanks, the same mischievous look in his eyes, it was always there, aside from the rare solemn moment, but nothing really rang his “James and Sirius Got In Trouble Again” bell. He would be a little offended if they had done a prank without telling him about it, the fun is in planning it. “Out with it, yeah? What have you been doing that made you want to curl up here with me like a cat?” All of his suspicions had to do with misbehavior, if it was a good deed, he might actually be speechless, but something gave him the indication that wasn’t the case, he wouldn’t be in here covered in the wet touch of the outdoors if that was the case.

Being Quidditch Captain for the Gryffindor team had its positives and negatives. The negatives weren’t often outweighed by the positives, but days like today they were. The rain was heavy and cold, and leaving a thick fog along the ground. Being a practice day, James had to be up early to set up the supplies at the pitch, come up with a game plan, and then spend several hours roughing it in the rain in a Scottish October. He wouldn’t change it for the world, and he worked his team hard with laps both in air and not. As well as a variety of maneuvers and plays. There was a perk, though. He had been up earlier, and given the weather, he thought he earned leaving earlier. So he’d assigned Sirius as as acting captain of the team and instructed them to verse each other for another hour whilst he went and got himself warm.

He could almost feel the cold coming on, if he didn’t. So he slapped Sirius on the back and gave a salute to Peter in the stands before dismounting his broom and heading back up to the tower. The walk was long and fit as he was, James was exhausted by the time he’d gotten to the Fat Lady. “Gigglewater,” James said with a yawn. She looked indignant at him, as his face grew annoyed when she wouldn’t immediately open. “Gigglewater, please..?” He asked, now. The Fat Lady huffed, but swung open. “You never chat with me anymore, Jimmy,” she sighed, but said no more. His own fault for buttering her up with compliments in his earlier years with the lads so they wouldn’t get in trouble for sneaking out. “We’ll have tea at the Fairy Pond Landscape in the Ravenclaw corridor,” he promised before heading inside.

When he got in the commonroom, his face lit up with a smile at the warm air from the fire and the familiar head of brown hair on the sofa. James had figured Moony had been up here, and just the lad he wanted to banter with anyway. Part of why he’d skived off the last bit of Quidditch practice. He tossed his broom to the floor, and slumped on the end of the sofa that was vacant. He was dripping wet, shoes muddy… everything muddy, really. And he was sweaty from the exertion. But Moons wouldn’t care, even if he looked like he did. “Left early, wanted to come cozy up to my favourite pup,” James joked. “Don’t tell Pads,” he added. “You know he gets sensitive when we pick favourites that aren’t him, poor chap.” James kicked his feet up, putting them in Remus’ lap before charming his shoes off his feet. He wiggled his toes under his socks before trying to scoot closer, despite the odd position. “Nothing suspicious here, mate.” Well, sort of a lie. And Remus could see through it.

“Can’t a lad want to get warm and cozy with a mate without it being weird?”

As happy as Remus was, getting some quality lad time with his brother at heart; there were certain things he was suspicious of. All of those just so happened to involve the notion that James or Sirius were ever innocent. "I won't tell him that he's no longer your favorite pup if you tell me why you're radiating guilt. What have you done this time? Unless you've killed a man, I'm not likely to be the least bit surprised by it." He'll, even if James had killed a man, he wouldn't be too surprised. Disappointed, but when it came to the mischief his friend got up to, the realm of possibility was wide, and the lycan couldn't be too open or closed minded to this. Seeing through the lies was, in his opinion, his best asset to the team of troublemakers. He could not only zero in on the pranks before professors could, extract the truth, and plot even more nefarious schemes.

"Well, when you word it like that, it sounds like you're trying to seduce me, but rather than shagging, its cuddling. None of which I'm interested in. I was reading, but as we both know, you want something. As we both can tell, you have an ulterior motive. Now what do you want? A new spell to goop the halls with? To copy my homework?" At this point if the professors thought James or Sirius actually did their own work, they didn't read a lick of Remus' work. Probably just passed it off after blindly stamping high marks on it, or something. Of course this is assuming the professors were much dinner than the candles put out in their holders. "And not to as question your integrity, but for the record, I doubt any canoodling we could get up to would away favorites. You and Sirius would follow each other to the depths of hell and back if it meant you could cause trouble."

Attempting to make very gay sentences sound as little homoerotic as possible, sparing the ears of any passerbys, was much harder than he thought, it actually made him come off as a little formal as well. All the brunet intended was to sound innocent in this weird newfound lad gayness James was exhibiting. Though he was twice as gay and James was at any given moment, he was particularly fond of the idea of people getting the wrong idea before he himself was putting out said wrong ideas. Drumming his hands on the others calves, "Now are you here to come out of the deep dark closet to proclaim your love for gingers or what?" Ahh yes, Remus you sly dog, no one would expect gay jokes from a gay man, or something equally false. He's not good at this interrogation stuff, and even the jokes were getting lame at this point. It was apparent, that as he was digging for James' answers, he was burying his own issues under the piles of Totes Hetero man jokes.

Humor and Humidity | Moony & Padfoot | August 22nd |

Late August was always the busiest time around the Leaky Cauldron, or as far as Remus has noticed, he didn’t really get the opportunity to visit at any other time. The busiest time just happened to be the hottest, the heat brought its own discomfort, but the humidity, causing his clothing to stick to his skin, brought on another type of discomfort. Thankfully, he made the decision to leave his house in muggle clothing, a faded grey Black Sabbath t-shirt tucked into his loose blue jeans, cuffed at the ankle with some sturdy boots. Never to make the mistake of wearing flip-flops around this tavern again. 

Paying overtly close attention to the watch his left wrist, counting each second, the brunet was early as always, a full fifteen minutes; sitting down at the bar, looking out of place, but the knapsack on his back and the wand sticking out of his back pocket indicated he belonged. Ordering two ice cold glasses of water, one for himself, and one for his friend he was anticipating. Making small talk with the bartender, as he waited, but he still found himself glancing at his wrist about twice each minute. Being impatient was a curse if anything, and he found himself having a full on discussion about how Moony was a Prefect for Gryffindor, and the bartender found it interesting about how such a “nice young man” could handle the high strung members of the house. 

Who knew it only took Remus talking about the shit he had to take disciplinary action against for the person he gave a Get Out Jail Free card to on the daily to slip his mind. For the first time all day, he wasn’t looking at his watch, and the anxiety of seeing his friend was evaporating. Sure seeing Sirius was a breath of fresh air, but in other ways it made him need to stop for air, the strain after what he refers to as the incident. The biggest moment of betrayal, but of course Sirius thought it was riveting, and he didn’t want to hold a grudge against him for anything, that's not what friends do. Forgiving didn’t mean he ever got an apology, and the lack of getting one always brought on an awkwardness to them hanging out. 

Nevertheless, it was a brand new school year, Remus was determined to look past it, the weeks of sending owls that lead up to this afternoon, he was really trying to get over the incident. Moony couldn’t hold it against Padfoot forever could he? With the topic of this far from his mind, and engrossed in a conversation with the bartender, he didn’t really notice when Sirius came in. He didn’t notice when anyone else came in, but the seat beside him had a glass of water in front of it, and it was otherwise vacant.
