Externally, she appeared indifferent. Internally, she felt lucky to have an official landing in her lap so easily. Her praying from the previous week must be paying off. “So you came all the way from the Ministry for a cup of coffee? There are better places in London than here.”

He had figured it was time he made contact with the woman who’d been, in his opinion, lurking around the Ministry. Besides, he needed a good coffee that morning. He ignored the stately look sent his way, “Sitting down. That’s what people do in a coffee shop, is it not?”

Her eyebrows rose up as the Ministry employee sat across from her. Serena eyed him suspiciously, glancing around to see if he perhaps mistook her for someone else. “Yes, it is. What’s a Ministry employee doing here in Hogsmeade?”

The cafe was nearly filled with the lunch rush on the weekend. Hogsmeade wasn’t usually her ideal spot to work, but she had to compromise for her work. Spying wasn’t as exciting as people thought it was, and she was grateful for the movies making it so that her presence inconspicuous. “What are you doing?” she asked as the person sat down across from her uninvited.

“I’m fairly certan the most ‘open’ you’ll get in this building is climbing in the fountain - which seems far too classless for someone of your social calibre.” Considering, he nodded. “You’re not wrong. Most departments are veritable seas of paperwork - I don’t have to deal with that, fortunately. Paperwork is an ‘unnecessary risk’ to the classified aspects of Unspeakable work.” He was fine with that; paperwork was horrid. “You’d do better to have officials as contacts, I expect.” It was a method the Prophet and Witch Weekly seemed fond of, at any rate.

Serena gave a disgusted look at the fountain. “I’ve swam in Mediterranean waters, I don’t plan on swimming in that disgusting fountain. It’s far too...viscoso.” Her attention went back to him, “I admire that. Personally I avoid paper myself.” Serena’s lips formed into a smirk, “If I get my way, which I usually do, I’ll have some official contacts by the time I leave today.” Brushing her hair over her shoulder, “Maybe I’ll even try some of the coffee. Emma says I should be more adventurous in my tastes.”

Festa di Tutti i Santi (All Saints’ Day) is a Christian festival celebrated in honor of all the saints, known and unknown. It’s celebrated on Nov 1 by the Roman Catholic Church. Christians who celebrate All Saints’ and All Souls’ Day do so in the fundamental belief that there is a prayerful spiritual bond between those in heaven and the living. It’s a national holiday in many Catholic countries. In Western Christian practice, the liturgical celebration begins at Vespers on the evening of Oct 31, All Hallows’ Eve, and ends at the close of Nov 1.

Festa di Tutti i Santi, or La festa di Ognissanti, is both a religious and public holiday in Italy on each Nov 1. People visit family and friends and exchange gifts and good will. If a person has the same name as a saint, it’s a special day for them, too. According to some sources, the idea for All Saints’ Day goes back to the 4th century when the Greek Christians kept a festival on the 1st Sunday after Pentecost (late May or early June) in honor of all martyrs and saints. Businesses are closed.
