For many systems, their plurality is defined by their kins, kinforms, kintypes, and kinshifts! These individuals definitely are still plural, and are a shining, integral part of the plural community! This post aims to celebrate and uplift kinplural systems of all sorts!

"Kinself" - Alterhuman Coining

In kin systems and/or kingenic plurality, the line can get blurry between what is a kintype, kin shift, and what is a system member. Kinform is a word currently used to describe an introject of a kintype. However, the separation isn't always so distinct during kin shifts.

"Kinself" is a word to bridge that gap. This is a term for any otherkin/etc shift that is intense enough for there to be a feeling of identity separation from ones' unshifted self. It may happen once or may be reoccurring, but the most important differentiating factor is that they're ephemeral in nature. While a kinform (median facet or not) is a consistently solid & recognizable system member, a kinself will experience temporary separation during the duration of their experience. This separation may waver, be consistent, or anything else, but is always temporary in one manner or another. As the kin shift fades, so does the kinself, returning back to the otherkin person in a manner similar to integration, fusion, and other similar experiences. This experience could be one-time per kintype, or reoccurring.

Could be considered an opposite of temporary fusion.

Kinselves fall under the median/midcontinuum umbrella. There is a chance a kinself could solidify further and become a kinform headmate.

Whether people choose to consider kinselves as part of their member headcount is up to the individual(s).

Solitaire-based Role System

A fun and purely cosmetic way of assigning system roles based on Solitaire. Every part of this role system can be freely changed and adjusted according to the users.

Suits / Origins:

Headmate origins as per Emmengard's plural rings.

Clubs - Spontaneous; e.g. cyclogenic, spiritual origins

Diamonds - Adaptive; e.g. traumagenic, neurogenic

Spades - Unknown; e.g. cryptogenic, quoigenic

Hearts - Created; e.g. willogenic, thoughtforms

Cards / Roles:

A hierarchal (but doesn't have to be) ranking of headmates. Can be based on role, age or when they were formed. (The coiner must preface that no role is better than the other and that roleless headmates can still be higher in rank based on other attributes!)

Kings - Protectors, persecutors

Queens - Caretakers, archivists, managers

Jacks - Symptom holders, xenoroles

Numbers - Roleless or miscellaneous roles

Aces - Originals, cores, outernauts

For those who prefer gender neutral language, an alternative to King and Queen are Sovereign and Regent respectively.

For Numbers, the user may assign them via random number generator or make up their own meanings.

Examples on how this works:

Headmate A is a willomate who is the main host, she can assign herself as the Ace of Hearts.

Headmate B is metaorma and a caretaker, xe would assign xyrself as the Queen of Clubs but prefers a gender neutral noun, therefore going by Regent of Clubs.

Headmate C is roleless and formed through adaptive means. It decides to assign itself the 7 (seven) of Diamonds, with the number 7 (seven) being picked from a *d10 dice.

*The coiner personally uses a d10 dice and rerolls if a headmate gets a 1 (one).

Remember, there can always be more than one card of any suit. After all, many Solitaire games are played with more than one deck!

🌈 Sides of the Spectrum

Active - Often take a direct approach to their role, initiating actions and events proactively

Passive - Often take a reactive approach to situations and work in the background, providing support

Primary - One’s main role, this role is a core part of their identity and pay shape their personality

Secondary - Another role a person has, it is not their primary role and one they may only preform when necessary

⚔️ Active Roles

Magician - A magician’s role is to manipulate their area of expertise, such as the ability to interject or erase memories

Knight - A knight uses their area of expertise to protect others inside or outside of the system. For example, a knight may numb or neutralize the body feeling panicked in order to ground the system

Rogue - A rogue steals their area of expertise, such as energy (and thus making the body exhausted) or pain

Barbarian - A barbarian destroys their area of expertise. For example, a barbarian may amplify negative emotions within the system to destroy the system’s self-esteem

Artisan - An artisan creates with/for their area of expertise. For example, an artisan may create completely new areas of the headspace for the system

Scholar - A scholar studies their area of expertise, constantly analyzing and learning more. As an example, a scholar may analyze the body’s memories and reveal their theories on how it effected the system in the long run

Sorcerer - A sorcerer practices their area of expertise. For example, a sorcerer’s expertise may be having the system practice establishing boundaries

Ranger - A ranger (re)distributes their area of expertise. For example, a ranger redistributing the body’s pain to themselves or another system member

Artificer - An artificer repairs their area of expertise. For example, repairing structures in headspace

Warlock - A warlock destroys using their area of expertise. For example, a warlock using the body’s pain to force the fronter to switch out

Seer - A seer is knowledgeable regarding their area of expertise. For example, a seer knowing all there is to know about the system’s physical conditions

Terms for Alters/Headmates with different speech capabilities than the collective/body

So as to not use verbal/speaking/vocal, which refers to permanent states tied to the body's/brain's capabilities

Vox -> Latin for voice

Non-vox/Nonvox 🌑 - an alter/headmate who is entirely unable to speak, whether the body can or cannot

Semi-vox/Semivox 🌘 - an alter/headmate who can only speak sometimes and/or partially, whether the body can or cannot

Hemi-vox/Hemivox 🌗 - an alter/headmate who's capability to speak falls between semivox and demivox, without being either, whether the body can or cannot

Demi-vox/Demivox 🌖 - an alter/headmate who can speak for the most part, with circumstances of speech difficulty, whether the body can or cannot (different from speech loss episodes)

Full-vox/Fullvox 🌕 - an alter/headmate who can speak, whether the body can or cannot

Vox-flux/Voxflux 🌓 - an alter/headmate with fluctuating ability to speak, whether the body can or cannot

Hyper-vox/Hypervox ☀️ - an alter/headmate who (involuntarily) speaks using more words than necessary to communicate (effective or not), whether the body can or cannot

The definitions are general guidelines, with exact meanings personal to each system/member -> vox labels are umbrella terms and a spectrum

PLURALPUNK V.2

Hey there! We're the original coiners of pluralpunk. We first coined this in 2020, and never expected it to get the attention it did. That being said, here's a new post for you all & a flag re-design.

As usual, the full information will always be available on the official carrd, linked in our description. Please link there when explaining what pluralpunk is or uploading it to wikis, since it's the most permanent place to find that information!

What is pluralpunk?

Pluralpunk (or plurpunk) is a movement that focuses on embracing one’s plurality and all of its intricacies in a radically accepting way as well as challenging the accepted “norms” of plurality within their own system and identity.

Pluralpunk is:

The rejection of the notion that plurality is inherently unhealthy/a disorder or that a system needs to be “cured” in order to lead a fulfilling life.

Acknowledgement that there is nothing inherently “wrong” with plurality and it is just another way to exist.

Acknowledgement that some may not choose to label their origins or system type while respecting the ones that do.

Freedom to do whatever they please with their system identity, including but not limited to: the name of the system, the names of headmates, subsystems, etc., pronouns, identity labels, and headmate origins.

Radical acceptance and inclusivity of any and all plural experiences - as long as those experiences are not directly harmful.

Inherently accepting, inclusive, and welcoming of endogenic, created, xeno-originated, spiritual, metaphysical, and other system types.

Inherently accepting of disordered and medical systems, including programmed/hc-DID systems, p-DID systems, systems with an ambiguous, pending, or unofficial diagnostic status, and systems with CDDs that are less visible in the community such as OSDD-1a and UDD (if they wish to consider themselves plural).

Italics are all new additions. These are not the only things pluralpunk can be - we invite you to make your own meaning, keeping in mind that is inherently inclusive and striving for a better future for all plurals.

Who is pluralpunk for?

Anyone can use this label, we just ask that you don’t use it to attack others and are respectful of others’ choices regarding their system!

This label was not intended for anti-endogenics, gatekeepers of any kind, radqueers, or other harmful individuals or groups. Your beliefs are antithetical to any punk subculture. While we cannot stop you, know that we do not approve or support anyone using pluralpunk to be exclusionary or harmful.
