screaming. god, without a dawn is such a powerful game. the fact that there is no good ending. there is only one route with only some minor changes in dialogue. but honestly, I think that adds to the experience. you never get better. you submit to your delusions and you regret it. the message of “the truth has an ever-shifting nature”. the ocd representation. the man in the gas mask. the weird morse code message and the repeating number 15. the ascii artstyle. I love every bit of it.

erm. so. just scared the shit out of ourselves by playing 1.5 horror games this evening.

first one was dead letter department, and OMG I NEED TO PLAY THE FULL THING NOW! I played the demo, and Phoenix (who was in cofront) was scared shitless (as well as myself!). loved the mechanic of typing stuff, and it was terrifying seeing shadows against the wall but not being able to turn around AAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!! very good game based on the demo, so I just bought the full thing and will prolly play it tomorrow!

second one was without a dawn, and that made me almost cry. as someone with delusions and possible ocd, I felt so connected to the story and the player character. I probablyyyy got the worst ending (there’s multiple endings!!!), but honestly it was worth it! I really want to do multiple playthroughs to 100% the game and see all the endings, because the art style is gorgeous and the story is just so compelling.

my day super duper good! went on bike ride wit red an bug an sunny for a bit but she left but it was so fun!!! red teached me how to ride the bike really good, and we went realy fast!!!! we also seed a lot of cool houses and tyler and cain was talking about how cool the houses was. we also saw a doggy, and also a deer, no, twooooo deer! an flax said we got 2 metres close to them, i don kno how close that is but that sounds close! oh oh, an we also saw a black kitty, and we petted it and it was really nice! an we also went to a school an i wanted to go on the playground but there was no swings so no playground for me :( but!!! i go eat ice cream with buggy now an watch fnaf videos!!!!!

god i am always the FIRST to rally against the failures of just fighting for tolerance from straight cis ppl, but also we haven't even fucking reached tolerance yet.

The world is so big and wide and complex and strange. How do you find comfort and peace amongst it?

i like this question, so i shall answer.

being something that has gone through a lot of emotional pain and isolation, the world does feel like hell at times. people dont understand you, or they might not even know you exist. there are horrible people in power, and there is more suffering than you can ever fully comprehend. but. there is also a bizarreness to it, as you mentioned. there are dozens of plants and animals and fungi and microbes that have yet to be understood or even discovered. there are hundreds of questions that have no answers. there are weird laws of the universe that make no sense, even if you happen to be a professional (talking about you, physics). all these things and more make life interesting and exciting to explore, because even if you never find an answer, sometimes the discussions are just as satisfying and important. and, even though i am someone who does not experience love very often, there is love. there is passion for people and things. there is the joy in seeing the sun set and the moon rise. there is awe when savouring the small things in life. there is satisfaction when you finally complete something you’ve been working so hard on. the whole scope of emotions, while it can be overwhelming and exhausting at times, is worthwhile.

Would you ever consider to become an incomprehensible formless concept and watch the world through the presence of something out of this dimension or do you prefer being 3d and understandable to some extent .. ?

Ooooh, honestly that’s pretty hard. On one paw, I like being able to experience the world through all my senses, and I think I would miss my friends and family a lot (especially our pets). But on the other paw, being a formless concept is an absolute dream for some of us. Being able to be everywhere and also nowhere would be so interesting, and I think that to experience the world as something with no form would offer some really bizarre and wonderful possibilities. But to conclude, I think I would take it. I could still see the people and things I love, just not in a way that anyone would be able to comprehend. Maybe I’d be able to give some kind of sign that I was there, and become sort of local phenomenon that only a few people would believe in.

oh! LIOM stands for Labels, Identities and Other Minorities, and MOGAI stands for Marginalized Orientations, Gender Alignments and Intersex! LIOM is more broad in its definition because beside queer identities, it also includes things like POC, disabilities, alterhumans, systems, amatopunks, kink, and sex work. I just combine the two in order to get it across that they’re very similar and that I support them both :)
