She arched an eyebrow at the Asari’s tone and dropped her hand from her hip. “Well, in that case, I’ll be leaving.” She turned unceremoniously away and went in the direction she was about 80% sure her target had gone in.

A wall of people walked by her, making her pause. Apparently a meeting had just let out and now everyone in the Presidium plus their aunt was meandering excruciatingly slowly by her. She curses again in Punjabi and runs a hand over her pulled-back hair to calm herself. Today was not her day.

How quick. Only a few moments and she was already done with with him - typical, though. People on the Citadel were so quick to ignore everyone else around them. He was about to turn away as well when an opportunity presented itself.

“Or not,” Riler said, inching his way back in front of her, blocking her from the wall of pedestrians. “Look, I’ve got nothing to do, you look like you need something, so why don’t you entertain me for a while?”

She was startled out of her thoughts by the Asari’s question. “Wha-?” Her head jerked up to look at the intrusion. “Um, no, no thank you.” Fingers came up to swipe at a few loose strands of hair on her forehead and she went back to looking for her target. He’d been here not 2 minutes ago. She bends down to retie her shoe and he’s gone. “Goddammit”, she cusses in Punjabi, the word coming out harsh. She needed to pull herself together. This cannot be happening as often as it had. She had a reputation to uphold and no amount of…of personal stress should distract her to this degree. She notices the asari’s eyes still on her and she turns to the oddly-dressed woman. “I’m sorry, is there something I can help you with? Cause I’m a bit busy.” Her frustration showed through the words clearly and manifested in her stance; hip jutted out, one hand propped on it.

He stared at her from under his hood - even with the artificial daytime on the Presidium, he wore it up. Easier to hide, but still, it was so obvious he was an Asari. Adjusting the fabric on his head, he leveled his gaze at her and took in her features.

“No need to get snippy. And no, I don’t need your help.” He raised his hands, mocking defensiveness. “I was just offering my own help to you, someone who looked like they definitely needed it. Purely because I’m bored, of course.”

And honestly - he was bored. A new change of pace, helping some person out... Alright, so he wanted something for himself out of it. But was he really going to admit that to her out loud?
