A possibly familiar figure walks through the snow of Copper-9. Made from shadows with the exception of her glowing white eyes, wearing a long red coat and light blue scarf, her nails a matching blue.

Vee was still in the pod, surprisingly anxious to actually leave for once. She squinted out one of the windows, tail flicking.

"is that.."

She opened the door and peeked out, hissing at the colder air from outside.

"SPECTRE!?" They shouted, cupping their hands around their mouth to make her voice travel more.

Spectre looks towards the source of the voice. She's a little far, but V might still be able to see her practically light up.

4 feathery wings with visible bones sprout from her back, one pair on her back, and one on her waist. She jumps into the air, quickly soaring over, before landing in front of the pod.

"Vee!" She smiles (much like the writer of this post right now) "You're here!"

She runs up and hugs the disassembly drone.

She took a step back when she saw the wings sprout from Spectre's back, confusion covering her face in a moment of pure 'that is definitely new'.

For once, she didn't even try to push back against the hug, instead letting herself be embraced, and even spinning Spectre slightly.

"You miss me? I know its been a few.. uh..." She checked her internal calendar. "...months.."

Spectre laughs.

"That's an understatement. Got really worried when I couldn't find you suddenly."

Eventually, Spectre lets go.

"It's been quite some time indeed."

"Salmon got me up and working again.. how've you been?"

She led Spectre in towards the couch so she could close the door, wanting her home to stay warm.

"Uh, good. A lot has happened since we last spoke."

Spectre sits down and smiles. "Salmon did, huh? Good for them."

"I'm so proud of her. It must've been hard.." she looks down at her hand, flexing it like she forgot she had it.

"What's been up with you that I've missed? If you wouldn't mind filling me in."

"Uh, oh gods, where do I begin? Where were we when we left off?" She rubs her head trying to remember. "Uh, well, we've had a few kids. Adopted a pillbaby named Kim, Kiara gave birth to Koba, and recently, I, uh, gave birth to another person like me. Not the only of my kind now."

She perked up at the name Koba, it felt familiar.. They paused for a second once the finished, a little loading gif in the corner of her visor.

"you had a..- Congrats, Spectre! Congratulations in general honestly."

Spectre laughs. "Heh, thanks. It's been a bit wild, honestly."

She looks around the pod.

"So, do you have any plans now?"

"I'm not sure what my plans are, honestly.. Survive? I still need to find Cozmic.. she's still missing and I was out for at least four months.." They leaned back, head resting on the back of the couch as she stared at the ceiling.

"Survive, find my daughter, and go tell my girlfriend I'm alive."

"That sounds like a good starting plan. If you need or want any help, or maybe someone to talk with, I'm here."

Spectre reaches into her coat and pulls out a canteen with a bat sticker. It's offered to Vee.

"I don't know if you remember the oil from my home?"

She seems to light up in a way, carefully taking the canteen and drinking some. After she swallows it down, they let out a small sigh - have they not drank oil since they woke up??

"Well, i can't remember anything other than tasting good." She offers the canteen back, still mostly full.

Spectre takes it back, laughing. "Yeah, it is really good. At least I've heard it is."

Her head cocks to the side, and she shakes the still mostly full canteen.

"You want the rest? It's an offer. Consider it a welcome back gift."

"...i mean, if you don't mind." She dips her head and takes it back, taking a longer drink this time. After she finished it, she licked a stray streak off her lip, stretching. She closed the canteen and offered it back.

"It feels so strange being back. I was just... Blipped out of existence for months, and now I'm awake again. It feels unreal."

V was lounging on top of the reworked pod, laying on her back with her glasses on and nosedeep into one of her flower books. Her tail flicked when she heard the voices, one of thrm clicking instantly.

She sat up, carefully slipping a bookmark between the pages, setting down her book, and hopping down into the snow and walking towards the sources.

"Tera? That's you, yeah?" She called, crossing her arms as she strode over in order to keep warmer.

"Hm, been a minute. Where is everyone?"

A familiarly small, blue haired worker drone pounces on V, hugging her tight like it's her last days alive. "VEEEEEEEE!!!!! I MISSED YOU SO MUCH!!" She nearly screams, right after instinctively nuzzling on her shoulder.

"WHOA -" V's tail shot out, flicking to try and balance herself. "Holy hell, hey there Six."

She tentatively hugs back, feeling oddly shy? Unusual for someone such as this murder drone. "Sorry for the scare, I'm here now at least."

Salmon sighed, eyes weak and staring at the project on her table.

Her tail tucked between her legs, the screwdriver in her hands shaking.

“Come on— come on come on come on..”

It had been several months since V had shown any signs of life.

She was unresponsive. Hurt. Basically dead.

Her hand twitched as her visor flickered to life, a groan of pain leaving her mouth as she took on her surroundings.

Eventually, her eyes landed on the fuzzy shape of her eldest.

"..sal..mon...?"

Salmon’s face lit up for the first time in forever, her tail quickly wagging like an excited puppy.

She bolted over to her mom, grabbing the other drone’s hand in hers and squeezing as tight as she could, blinking back tears.

V smiled, turning and hugging her daughter. She couldn't remember what happened, or why she had been gone for so long, but she was there now.

She was there now and that was all that mattered to her.

"Hey kiddo..."

Salmon squeezed her tightly. As tightly as her trembling hands could allow.

She buried her face in V’s chest, appearing taller and more mature than before. Tears slowly started pouring down her face, letting out a choking sob.

“M..mommm..”

They rested their head on top of their daughter's, a rattling purr starting to emanate from her chest. How long had it been since she had genuinely held one of her daughters?

...too long.

"I'm here, Salmon.. I'm right here.."

The disassembly drone gently combed her fingers through her daughter's hair, letting her cry into their chest.

“I missed you— I missed you so much—“

Salmon managed to choke out the words between tears, her hands clutching the back of her mother’s shirt desperately.

"Shhh.." V coos quietly, holding her daughter like the world might rip her away again.

"I'm sorry, kid.. I'm here again though.. you've got me right here."

Salmon leans as close to V as she could, trying to stay as close to her mom as she could.

“Mmm..mom,,,”

She nuzzles her repeatedly, her crying slowly lessening as she focused on her mother.

They shakily stood, carefully scooping up their daughter and walking slowly to the couch. She sat down, holding her daughter so that Salmon's 'ear' would be pressed against her chest to hear her thumping core.

"I've got ya, Salmon.. Hear that? I'm alive.."

A low purr gently starts surrounding the room, Salmon’s body slowly relaxing after months of stress.

Hearing the young drone's purr, their own got louder. They were safe.. safe and together..

"Why don't you get some rest, hm..? I won't let go of you."

“M..mmhm..”

She nods, despite having been drifting off before V even mentioning it. Her tail unconsciously wrapping around her mom’s arm.

The mother chuckled, smiling softly down at her eldest. Oh how she missed this..

"Rest well, Sal."

They kissed the young drone's forehead familially, and held her.

Salmon sighed, eyes weak and staring at the project on her table.

Her tail tucked between her legs, the screwdriver in her hands shaking.

“Come on— come on come on come on..”
