Haha, oops ...

I just realized (yeah, I'm a little slow sometimes) that all of my reblogs over the past couple nights, tonight included, have gone to my Lightsaber blog (SSCSabers), instead of going here, where they were intended to go. I'd clean things up now, but see, most of my reblogs are done while half awake, right before I go to sleep and am winding down, so I'll do it tomorrow. Sue me, I'm lazy. And tired. And generally just lazy.

Some work in progress pics of my latest custom hilt. This isn’t for anyone in particular. This is going to be driven by a Petite Crouton sound card from Plector Labs and two rechargeable li-ion 18650 batteries. I plan on the main LED being an Amber/Amber/Red Orange Tri-Cree, but I will also have Royal Blue/Royal Blue/Red and RGB Tri-Cree modules that can be easily changed out.

I still have to make the pommel, control box with custom buttons, LED modules (a redesign; my old ones worked, but the redesign will be better at heat dissipation), and a power chassis. I haven’t decided if I’ll include a lighted crystal with the chassis, since I plan on my accent LED pads being used for my control box. A crystal won’t be visible without opening the hilt, which you would need to do to change the uSD card, but it would look cool.

It’ll have recharge and RICE ports (the latter for changing settings hot on the fly using a computer and a special cable). The Petite Crouton is packed full of features, one of which is on the fly color mixing. Hence, I could drop in an RGB LED module, making the hilt color changeable on the fly, with the mixed colors set with the RICE connection.

Stay tuned. It’ll probably be another week or two before it’s done.
