Let's talk armor. What aesthetic did Rafael choose? Did he design it himself, just have some input, or let Mortum take the reigns? What loadout did he choose and why?
-Oh, yes! I was waiting for this question. I debated with myself for a while what Rafael's canon armor should be, but ultimately Rafael's heart chose the terrifying armor for the villain that will be known as Overlord. He came up with all of it himself. He had to. The armor wasn't just an armor, but an extension of his self. -In terms of design, it looks like a goddamn predator, with infra-red eyes and a fanged mouth. The suit's color itself is mostly black with grey at the more vulnerable part of the suit to mesh them better, but with the odd touch of dark purple at the sides of his torso and shoulder blades to give it something akin to a glint when caught in the right light. Also the suit has 2 inch long claws at the finger-tips, boots that seem to be able to handle skidding on the ground. Jump-jets right on the bottom of them and on the back, beneath an armor plate. Oh and his shoulders are more subdued, making the head-piece stand out more. - In terms of loadout, Rafael went all out on Speed and Strength upgrades. It makes sense, Rafael views his armor as the tool he needs to fight back and also an extension of his core self, so he doubled down on what he already saw himself to be: An angry, reckless victim lashing out against the world with everything he had. A hero who was betrayed by his friends. An experiment turning out to be a monster. So he made sure to the maximum amount of damage possible. - Finishing off, his suit has no cape. Rafael liked Mortum's suggestion, he thought it was corny and endearing, but he didn't like how the cape served as a cowl or a hood. He wanted Overlord to stand tall and have nothing to hide. An honest monster, so to speak. So he refused.
