[ENG TRANS] Daily Sports Okura Takato and Muto Jun Special Interview
Genin wa Jibun ni Aru., which celebrated their 5th anniversary, continues to gain momentum. After the successful arena concert on November 17th, they released a Concept EP titled "Tetrahedron" on December 4th. This spring, they will begin a partnership deal with Universal Music, receiving promotion back up. We interview the members as they move into a new phase. We asked about their relationship to Muto Jun and Okura Takato.
â€ïž I have always respected Okura Takato for his personality and performance skill. But recently, (as the group is celebrating the 5th anniversary) we've started to spend time outside work, like going shopping together. I feel like if we'd gone to the same school, we would've been friends for sure. I've come to know more of his fun and kind side, and I feel like I've gained a deeper understanding of who Okura Takato is as a person.
đ There are moments where I think, "I want to go grab a meal with Jun-kun," especially when I'm feeling down or struggling with something. Sometimes, we talk about Genjibu as well.
â€ïž We went to have monjyaki the other day, just the two of us.
đ Yeah, we also went to eat yakitori together, right?
â€ïž Out of the blue, (Takato) called me and said, "Jun! Let's go! It's a deal!" It feels like he just drags me along (laughs). But in the end, when I go with him, I have so much fun. I'd like to go to concerts with him too someday, maybe to Vaundy's concert. We also go to karaoke together a lot.
đ We rarely sing Genjibu's songs, though. Instead, we sing Vaundy, King Gnu songs together and be like, "How many scores can you get?" We always get really into it and just loud the whole time.
â€ïž Everyone in the group gets along really well. For the next 5 years (10th anniversary), I hope our relationship remains unchanged. I'd like to maintain that sense of being friends.
đ I feel the same way. After 5 years, I think my personality has changed from when we debuted. But since the members treat me the same way as they always have, I feel like I can continue being part of Genjibu. Jun-kun and I are the two oldest in the group, so I hope both of us can support the group together.
â€ïž Talking about support, Takato's MC skills have really been a saving grace for the group. He lightens the mood instantly and pays attention to everyone really well. Itâs like he has a built-in timer for talk segments, and he nails the timing perfectly, like a professional announcer.
đ Jun-kun being the one whoâs elevated Genjibuâs singing ability is a huge support for the group. Over these five years, the one who's been the backbone of the groupâs vocals is Jun-kun, for sure. I canât even imagine how hard heâs worked all these time. Iâm incredibly grateful to him for waiting and supporting us all this time.

đ I have so much to thank Jun-kun for. That's why, right now, there are so many moments where I feel like I want to talk with him.
