I'm traveling to the UK in September and will have September 19th in London. I would like to spend my day viewing calligraphy works, etc. as well as doing some shopping for calligraphy supplies. I have read that the British Library is a great place to visit an Cornellisons (sp) for shopping. I would appreciate your suggestions as I admire your work and feel you would know best. What is the best way for a calligrapher from North Dakota USA to maximize a trip. Thanks in advance.

Hi there! Well I think you’re off to a good start.  I haven’t been able to get to the British Library for a long time, but there are certainly many wonderful original manuscripts there.  Don’t overlook the British Museum either, although they tend to have broader exhibitions rather than calligraphy centric displays.  And yes, L. Cornelissen & Son (https://www.cornelissen.com/) is a must see - a tiny shop, but certainly my favourite.  I also enjoy London Graphics Centre in Covent Garden (http://www.londongraphics.co.uk/) a more general art & graphics supply store.  But I’d also suggest you reach out to Paul Antonio Scribe https://www.facebook.com/Paul-Antonio-Scribe-110088289117604/ He has a calligraphy studio in London and is certainly one of our foremost calligraphy authorities.  I live an hour north of London, so I don’t get to explore as often as I like ... Paul and his team will know all the secrets and would be excellent guides if you can make contact with them.  Hope that helps, and I hope you have a wonderful time in the UK!

Today was our 14th wedding anniversary ... 14 years with an incredible person and my true love. How time flies! June and July are busier than Christmas for us with lots of birthdays, anniversaries and holidays, and sometimes (much to my frustration) calligraphy has to come second.
