After months of devoting all my time to studying for the OWL’s, I’m beyond ecstatic to be back! I know it’s been a couple of weeks since we left school, so my comeback is a little belated, but I wasn’t sure if I should actually get a tumblr again since I found myself wasting too much bloody time watching videos, but I guess I missed you all more than I thought I would! I know I talk to most of you everyday at school, but when we’re all back home like this, it’s different, y’know? Anyway, I wish I could say I was doing more with my summer like traveling and flirting with cute people from the States or something more eventful, but I’ve literally done nothing but binge shows on Netflix and watch makeup tutorials on YouTube for when Emma lets me sparkle her up again. Which I’m absolutely not complaining about, but I’m really hoping you all are having a more exciting summer than I am— feel free to boast all about it, so I can live vicariously through you! I wonder how tumblr always finds a way to lure weak souls back into its grip. Your vacation sounds, not as exciting as it could, though it sounds like an ordinary vacation     A break from studies and school. Myself, I’ve greated the end of the school year in n’other manners. My family and I are taking of for a little time, and other than that I have finally had the time to get through my book about Muggles and Wizards, how both have viewed Alchemy and divination through-out time.

Slytherin House  { There is a madness,       To my method } 

Lauren had often wondered what would have happened if she had been born into a different family; A family which last name wasn’t know by the wizarding world, for all the worst reasons. A family which last name did not recall fear and lowered voices of despair. A family where grandparents were either dead of natural causes, or at least not dying behind bars at Azkaban. A family where she as a child would not have to fight for her peers acceptance, and result in disappointment as they merely fled. A family were she did not have to give up on choosing her own path and losing hope of her identity, but instead having to accept that her last name and the placement of the houses had chosen it for her. Yes, Lauren had often wondered about many things; But Lauren had mostly wondered what would have happened, if she at least had the freedom to try to break the ideals that her family has always had     In the end, she would have been more accepting of who she was, if it wasn’t because her surroundings and her family’s ideals had been pressed down over her head, and had coursed the outcome.

You’re right; it’s not the exact same thing, but we were at war with the world from birth. We grew up with the knowledge of how ugly the world can be. We didn’t really have it ripped away. I agree, but at that age it seems they have a lack of filter.

I am not sure which I would consider to be worst. In a way, though I would have wished for a more peaceful upbringing, I would still rather have grown up; Being prepared for the worst     Than living blissfully, and having everything taking away. Still none of the above is the ideal. I’ve always wondered what it would have been like, had we been born as different people; Into different families .. Where the roots were, less dark. I am not sure I would have liked the outcome, considering the majority of people I am acquainted with, I do not exactly like.     I agree, and I guess that is what we’re here for. Auch. I know that your current length isn’t what all girls are used to on boys, therefor they do not like it; It’s the Xenophobia playing with their minds. I myself always wondered how I’d look blond, though I am completely fine with my own appearance as it is; And honestly, I am blankly sure I would look at least half as intelligent if I were to change my hair color    Chemicals kill, you know.

Throughout the day Laurens body had been acting weird, as if she was about to get hit by the flue, mixed with a feeling of excitement. She wasn’t normally one to appear scared our nervous for the public eye to see, so she had held her head high and back straight as she walked through the halls of the big castle - And though she knew it was just her imagination playing with her, she felt as if a hundred eyes were watching her. But she was sure the only one who would actually see how her mood was affected by the events they were to experience, was someone who had been so close to her for years, such as Mei had. 

Lauren, as a person who has her schedule planned to the last second, were where they had agreed to meet, a few minutes before time. As she stood there waiting, her mind wandered to her parents words of advice     And further on, to how she had asked out of pure curiosity if, and if so under which circumstances, they had experienced an Unforgivable Curse on their own body. Her mothers eyes had went cold, while her father had bluntly said yes; Under which circumstances, he would not tell. Lauren could not completely tell which side her parents were on, which had been a topic on her mind, that had been there a lot since the last attack from the Dark Brotherhood. They wouldn’t speak about such things, and in a way Lauren felt mislead; But in reality she knew that they did not want to influence, nor poison, her view on the wizarding world.

“Oh please, as if I were to be the one to get cold feet”, she said with a chuckle, turning so she faced Mei, as she heard the Raven fly by. As her mind slowly picked up on the fact, that Mei was indeed here, it were as if the sickness that had been bothering her were disappearing a little; Now just lurking in the back of the excitement. “So     Are you ready?” she said, wondering what had went through Mei’s mind this morning, knowing that they had agreed to go through the assignment together.

Mei: I don't foresee a great deal of lighthearted ones in the current community any time soon, if your House is anything like mine, so I suppose we should take the opportunity where we can Lauren. That is a good point: however, I imagine the Headmaster would have an acceptable gauge for what one could experience without permanent trauma. I for one am surprised no one has discussed how impractical exposure to Crucio is, as the two types of wizards that would use it are either too inexperienced with torture to know that pain really only causes a target to say anything to make it stop, whether truthful or not; or sadistic and thus would have no intention of ceasing even with the needed information. Either way I don't see any sort of preview of such an undertaking as terribly useful to most of our peers.

Mei: Really? I actually hadn't come to a solid conclusion over whether I'd take part or not: Father feels the exercise itself to be unnecessary, however he is not hindering me from making the decision. Indeed I also have not come across a peer with whom I would wish to engage with, although I suppose I am ~somewhat~ curious as to whether I have the mental preparation necessary to withstand an Imperius Curse, which to me is much more of a risk, as one cannot be certain who is affected by it. I suppose, if you're interested, we could attend to the assignment together then?

Lauren: Touche, I am sure it won't surprise you, when you hear you are the first of many to put a smile on my face these days. I hope you are right-- I don't always agree with Professor Xavier's methods, but I have no doubt that he is doing what he seems fit; and that he is an intelligent and gifted wizard. I imagine he has experienced similar trauma as the assignment may cause some students, through-out his years. I see your point, and I must admit the thought had not struck me before now.

Lauren: I have come to terms with my own decision - And I do intend to do the assignment -- But I will admit that I feel pure fright, thinking what the outcome may be. And it's a feeling I don't usually get. I would like to be prepared, and learn from the experience, even though I myself doubt that I can withstand an Imperius Curse. My parents have strongly advised me to do the assignment, though they have left the choice to me. With that said, I would be a fool if I didn't know that their view has affected mine.

Lauren: I would like that, if you conclude to do the assignment. I doubt I could a better partner for the assignment; As you would probably figure, there aren't many I would trust in such circumstances.

Have you ever noticed how wars make people grow up before their years? First years talking about seeking revenge and what they’re going to do if they grow up, not when. It’s quite disheartening. Their childhoods are now destroyed.

Isn’t the way they grow up, the exact same way as we did? Honestly; I believe many of us are beyond the mentality of our years, due to our upbringing. No offense, but I am sure you of few can relate to my upbringing. With that said    I was honestly shocked when I head the First and Second years talking like that, both because seeking revenge at their age is simply stupid and reckless thinking, and by talking about what their actions will be if they get to grow up; They are simply losing hope, and effects their fellow students by speaking about such things.

I decided it was time for a change. I think I may have been the cause for very confused first years when they asked me why I wanted to be a girl now that I have long hair. I told them girls are bad asses, so everyone should want to be one. At least they won’t act treat girls like crap; they just might start dressing like them.

Additionally, though it is an awful consideration, going through an Unforgivable Curse might give the rabble-rousers enough of a jolt to realize how out of their league in this fight they are and calm down. If they're truly interested in becoming involved, they're going to require a desperate reality check.

Mei: Wait, so are you and Isabel doing it?

Lauren: Ha. Don't make me laugh in a serious conversation, Mei. If I have to be honest, one of the things that concerns me most is that I don't think every student has the mentality to go through such an experience. I can name a handful of people, whom I imagine would break mentally.

Lauren: Oh no, I think she has already partnered up - But I actually don't know. Since I assume you'll do it-- And if not, correct me-- But have you partnered up?
