Root walking on the edge of a building to force The Machine help her find Shaw, who chose to commit suicide before killing Root in every simulation, Shaw saying Root was her safe place and she was the only person she couldn't kill in the simulations, Shaw attempting to kill herself making Root want to die because she couldn't live without her, Root admitting to her it was the first time she felt like she belonged followed by her being murdered while protecting Finch and working for The Machine which takes Root's voice. Shaw visiting Root's tombstone and realizing her body was taken by Samaritan because of her cochlear implant. The Machine helping the team, telling Sameen the thing about her no one understood about her was what Root thought made her beautiful, Shaw fully knowing The Machine would be dismantled forever and those were the last moments she'd hear Root's voice. Then The Machine watches as Reese finishes infecting Samaritan's system, thanking Harold for giving him a purpose, Finch's creation remembering John as the kid at his father's funeral while standing beside him and as Harold fades away awaiting for something that stuck with The Machine, it being a phrase; "everyone dies alone but if you mean something to someone, if you help someone or love someone, if even a single person remembers you... Then maybe... You never really die at all" as both Finch and The Machine see how Reese gets shot to death. Harold, Shaw and Fusco being the only left, keeping their friends alive by keeping them in their memories
