Her first instinct was to take a few steps back as he moved towards her but the fact that he seemed amused with her antics loosened her up a bit. She smiled wryly as he looked her up and down - no doubt trying to determine if she was armed or not, but he was cute and she wasn’t going to tell him to stop.
“Hmm… not sure I like that idea.” She remained where she stood, hands in front of her, fingers entwined. Aithusa was harmless, she just had to prove that to the security guard. A little grin started on one corner of her mouth and slowly began to spread. “How’s about you let me off the hook? C’mon, it’s just for fun. Besides, I don’t think you really want to call the cops on me, do you?” Eyes widened, playfully begging to not be punished for her innocent activity. There wasn’t any harm in remaining, really. Yes, it was breaking the rules and she knew she was asking for trouble the longer she lingered and didn’t do as he said, but she didn’t like the consequences the next day either. “What if,” she said coyly. “You keep an eye on me, hmm? I won’t touch anything, I just need to stay here all night. They’re coming in the morning to see if I lasted and I really don’t want to be the butt of their jokes for a month.” Rocking from her heels to her toes, she looked like a disobedient little kid. “It’ll be our little secret… I promise?”
“Ah, I’m sure you don’t.” He mused, pressing his lips into a thin line and nodding at her words, perhaps already expecting her antics to be carried on throughout the conversation. As Aithusa stepped back, in what felt like some automated response, all he could do was arch a single brow towards her – unsure whether he wanted to address it or not. Despite doing his best (which still wasn’t ideal, to begin with) to keep a serious demeanor and stiff posture, Pietro had pretty much lowered his guard by then, knowing it was unlikely that the situation was anything other than expected – but also, no longer complaining about it. “Wait,” he began, drawing both brows together, the left corner of his lips twisting up in a side-smile, “you’re here because of a dare?” Emphasizing the last word, a huff of air soon soared past his lips, almost in disbelief.
“Dares in graveyards, in haunted mansions, or even in the woods I get, but museums?” Cocking his head to the side, he narrowed eyes back at the blonde, albeit the much lighter atmosphere. “Sounds like whoever gave you this dare doesn’t have the best of imaginations.” Voice leaking mockery, Pietro kept brown eyes almost fixated on the smaller figure, jokingly tantalizing whoever dared her in the first place – but also no longer bothered with her presence, even if he should be. “Or maybe you’re one of those kids who fear moving paintings? To be honest, and that’s between the two of us,” allowing both hands to drop to his sides, Pietro leaned slightly closed to the blonde, lowering his tone as if fearing someone could hear it before finishing his thoughts: “there are times I pass by a few paintings a couple corridors back and swear they blink at me.”
Letting the words linger for another moment, he waited in place, holding his breath – before dropping the act, an airy laugh ringing past his throat at the bullshit story. However, as his short laugh subsided, and his expression faded back to serious, Pietro ran his tongue through his lips, perhaps even considering her words – what harm could that even do? Besides, he could use some company, couldn’t he? Well, it wasn’t like the girl wasn’t trying her best to stick around – and calling cops was, indeed, a lot of paperwork that he wouldn’t want to even touch. Folding both arms in front of his torso, the security guard hummed in thought as she went on a tangent about not touching anything, and even if letting her around meant being as irresponsible as one could possibly be, Pietro was, at best, the embodiment of irresponsibility – wasn’t he?
“Hypothetically, if I pretend you’re not here-“ he tried, quite entertained by the blonde, “that could make me lose my job, you know?”
"That means no one can know about this."

Trick or Treat!
Happy Halloween!
@wiingless went trick or treating and got an edit based on one of our threads, Happy late Halloween!
‘ dreams are funny, aren’t they? ’
Pietroshifted on his tree branch as the somewhat familiar and sweet-toned voicesoared not too far from his figure. Low and croaky, a hum rang past his throatwith ease, as the dark-haired boy kept his eyes up at the starred sky. He’d neverbeen too fond of hotel rooms and such expenses, often filled with the tauntingsmell of human blood and noises that, albeit faint and muffled to others, wereloud against his ears – therefore, he perfected the art of camping whenever he sought peace more than a soft mattress orbreakfast in bed – and albeit silly-sounding, spending his time up a tree wasone of his guilty pleasures. “I guess, but…” he began, finishing his ownsentence with a quick shrug of shoulders, staring down at his hands for a second or two before shifting his attention towards Johanna. In all honesty, Pietro wasn’t one to remember his dreams too often, let alonespeak on it – and in the end, it was mostly filled with visions of scenes heexperienced in the past.
“That depends on the dream.” Stating briefly, he cockedhis head back and against the bark, eyeing the dark sky once again, beforeclicking his tongue. “But some are funny, I guess. I can’t say, I don’tremember most of what I dream, anyway.” Admitting to not being a dreams expert,he sent Johanna a faint smile, drumming fingers against the tree bark before jokinglyadding: “either way, they say in dreams we can only picture faces we’ve seenbefore while awake. Personally, just from the dreams that I haven’t forgottenyet, that raises a shit ton of questions.” Tilting his head to the side forhalf a second, Pietro ran his tongue through his teeth, deeply in thought for asecond or two – and, probably, already going off-topic.

she smiled at the fact that he actually seemed excited at the thought of dinner with her and her mother. “i don’t really know what we’re having but i can ask when we get back.” matilda wouldn’t be surprised if her mother even said just order pizza or takeout if they didn’t get their work done in time. she was lucky that she had her mother, she knew that. she was in a house with parents that didn’t love her. she nodded and giggled as she unlocked the car and climbed in. “just cutting out little ghosts and pumpkins, things like that. mom and i will hang up the decorations at the school tomorrow.” some of the other teachers volunteered to help out so it wouldn’t be that bad. when she started it and put on her seatbelt, she shrugged. “i think i may just hand out candy with mom and then my best friend’s having a party.” if lavender wasn’t the hostess, matilda wouldn’t go. but it was her best friend. once she started the car, she smiled as she started driving. “if you wanted to come, you can. i think you’d really like lavender.” and it would be fun, she would actually know people there. no one deserved to be alone during a holiday and lavender wouldn’t be mad if she invited one other person.
Agreeing with a nod, Pietro gave it a quick shrug of shoulders as he waited for the unlocking beep, before climbing in as well, soundly shutting the door soon after. “Ah, crap-” he began, soon cursing under his breath at the realization the very next day there would be, probably, hordes of angry kids knocking on his door and asking for candy – and, yet, he couldn’t exactly hand them a cup of coffee or something even less orthodox, such as a beer, which were conveniently, the only supplies he had at home. “I forgot to buy the candy.” Pietro complained, scrunching his nose at his own lack of a brain. “I should probably do that before tomorrow night, or pretend I’m dead and refuse to open the door – actually, that’s much easier?” Drawing both brows together at the last question, the dark-haired young man cocked his head to the side, actually taking that into consideration – although another idea soon came to mind. “Or, yet, give them sour candy. But that would plain evil even for Halloween, huh?” Shooting Matilda a joking smile, he rested an arm on the side of the door, drumming fingers against the car while keeping his eyes on the girl. At the invitation, his face soon lit up, rubbing both hands due to the chilly air, suddenly feeling far more excited about the upcoming holiday. “That means I gotta go as something, right?” Pietro arched a brow back at his friend, running his tongue through his teeth in thought. “Wait, what are you going as?” He asked, jokingly, knowing that it was common for girls to dress up in provocative costumes – and, honestly, using it to tease Matilda, given it was hard to picture her in something of the kind.
