everybody in the replies:
a trick Iāve been using recently to help with adultingTM is turning those feelings of anxiety into feelings of excitedness. Itās a small change thatās had a massive impact. I have generalised anxiety disorder and Iām currently doing a whole lot on my own, having interviews for uni admission, working and doing a lot where I have to be self-sufficient. The changing of anxiousness and dread into being excited happens first with how you speak about the events. eg. turning āThis is awful but Iāll do it.ā intoĀ āIām so pumped to be able to try this!ā. That change in verbalise those feelings translate into how you actually feel. I didnāt think it would work but it has! Itās allowed me to no longer be stressed about things beyond the moment in which I think about them. That lingering sense of dread as I sit and try and relax isnāt there. Donāt get me wrong, I still have anxiety and feel anxious about things but this small change in particular has let me let go of a lot.
GENUINELY still using this technique, itās worked with job interviews, travelling through massive cities by myself and so much more. Legit, be excited, not scared.

ATTENTION COSPLAYERS:
I would like to make the paint brand āAngelusā known. It is a special paint that is for leather, faux leather, rubber, and similar surfaces.
This is literally the best paint you can buy if you love a pair of shoes, but they arenāt in the right color for your character.
This stuff coats VERY well AND the coats of paint bend with your shoes. This means no cracking!!
In the photos above I took black rain boots and painted them with Angelus Turquoise. As you can see, they donāt look black any more! Itās so good!
I managed to paint two boots with a little one ounce bottle of the paint, and I still have a third of the bottle left over!
The paint dries very fast, so you can put layer on top of layer on top of layer without it streaking.
You can get the paint on Amazon and it comes in every color!
I just really wanted to make this known!! :D This stuff is amazing!

Donāt buy Angelus paināt on Amazon, itās like $6.99 an ounce. Buy it direct from their online store the poster above linked, the single ounce bottles are $2.95 there. Also, a little goes a long way, unless you have something HUGE to paint, you can probably do it with a small bottle. I barely dented the one I got doing all the black on this;
Things I wish I had known last year.
Iām just impressed that 3 people I follow showed up in one post! But yes, support angelus paint
The nice thing about Angelus is that itās water based, so both non-toxic AND can be watered down to make light washes. This can be really useful for tinting fabrics. It works well as a general fabric paint at full strength too, especially on stiff materials like canvas. They also have a softener you can add for more flexibilty. Thatās on top of being awesome for leather, plastics, poly urethane, and pvc!
One important thing: AVOID natural rubber/latex. Acrylic doesnāt play well with those and is likely to peel. Most ārubberā boots these days are vinyl though, which is fair game! Be careful with the soles, which are often still natural. Always test if youāre unsure. Side note, natural rubber can be dyed! And there are specialized paints like Plasti-Dip. But thatās a whole other post.
You should also be cleaning/stripping any real leather products because the finish can prevent paints from gripping. Angelus sells a product for this but you can also use a high % rubbing alcohol or acetone. I like acetone because it strips faster, but you need to be cautious with pure acetone as too much can damage the leather.
DO NOT use acetone on synthetics! It will straight up melt them. Synthetics just need to be wiped clean and gently sanded with a high grade sand paper. Like 200 grit and up. Angelus also sells an adhesion promoter, though Iāve never needed it on shoes. Itās more important for something thin and flexible, like raincoat.
Angelus has great tutorials on itās website, and thereās also plenty of how-toās on Youtube. These paints are industry standard for theatre costuming because theyāre durable as hell and can be used in so many ways. Happy painting, guys!
you cant just headcanon what ever character you want as trans or fat or whatever
I just realized I never put this online anywhere.Ā This is a little Knuckles comic I did for a zine that some friends of mine put together for SPX last year.Ā Itās nothing like the last Sonic comics I did.Ā Fewer jokes, and just generally more of a cute little Knuckles moment.Ā But I hope you like it anyway~
