hi! i’m gracie i like to post little headcanons i have because why not?

mostly i do them for haikyuu as of june ‘26, as that’s my current obsession, but i will prolly post them for other fandoms too

i may post smaus or drabbles in the future or if requested

haikyuu headcannons

what sport would they play other than volleyball?

anyways, here the sports i think haikyuu characters would play if not volleyball. some characters might overlap because i didn’t have a solid choice, or i see them playing multiple sports.

keep in mind this is just my opinion and you’re entitled to your own!!

kenma, kageyama, akaashi: badminton players; singles, specifically, i imagine.

hinata, aone, kuroo: basketball. aone would legit be so scary to go against. hinata would NAWT be able to dribble but he could lwk prolly dunk

bokuto, futakuchi, daishou, kuroo: ice hockey (i know dada 🙂‍↕️)

goshiki, kyotani, iwaizumi: martial arts. kyotani specifically is a boxer. i think iwa leans more towards jujustu or taekwondo. goshiki does karate. i am not willing to bend on this

daichi, ushijima, yamamoto: rugby and or american football. just feels right..

shirabu, aran: tennis. i think aran played a bit as a kid. specifically that one clip where he’s bouncing the ball before serving reminded me of tennis so much icl. shirabu just seems like a little country club kid to me.

kiyoko, tendou, noya, hinata: track & field. this one’s pretty self explanatory for kiyoko, but i think hinata would do jumping events, noya is a sprinter, tendou gives me discus or javelin vibes.

oikawa, tsukishima: golf. tsukishima’s a wee bit lazy but he’s smart, so i see this! oikawa has a very good athletic iq, so i can see this fitting him.

sakusa, kita, asahi, yamaguchi: baseball. this just fits so well in my mind. sakusa is not a fan of sliding but he def throws a mean curve ball.

suna, yaku, yachi: gymnastics. yachi i specifically see doing rhythmic gymnastics. she’d be such a cutie doing ribbon!

lev, kohona, akaashi, shibiyama, akagi: figure skaters!! this fits so well in my mind, trust

noya, sugawara, osamu, atsumu, kindaichi: soccer. noya has pretty good lower body reflexes and sugawara seems pretty speedy. i have no other explanation for this.

oikawa, kageyama, fukunaga: archery.

a/n: i always forget that when people say hockey they don’t automatically just mean ice hockey. maybe that’s really canadian of me but i always just assume that’s what they’re referring to.
