Season one of @startrek : Starfleet Academy I couldn’t have done without my crew but I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for @gershaphillips - G has been a friend for a while, a former boss and a Designer I’ve always admired. Co-designing with her I learned so much about workflow, building, and pushing the absolute limits of what is possible from her. She taught me to seek out new ways to simplify and find opportunities to go hard. I’ve never met someone with so much energy in my life… a force doesn’t even begin to do justice as to what she is capable of. Often in awe of her skills and talent, I am eternally grateful for the baton that was passed my way. When people ask me about designing for this franchise I often say “Star Trek creates new neural pathways.” G was the conduit that opened my mind to so much of it. I have inherited so much technology and many techniques that she developed. It is not lost on me the privilege and access to all of that I now have. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you, Gersha!❤️ 🖖🏼

I'm fascinated that the sealing mantle post made #4! I love that costume so I was really happy when I saw that. But it's funny, because I can never anticipate what you guys latch onto. Except that there are a lot of Holly fans here. ;) Which is fair.

🔥 Jay-Den Kraag — quite possibly the handsomest Klingon in the galaxy. Portrayed by the incredible Karim Diané @team_karim on @startrek @starfleet_academy. This was one of those makeups that evolved constantly throughout the season. By the end of Season 1, we had applied Jay-Den’s makeup roughly 80 times, refining and streamlining the process along the way. What began as nearly a 5-hour collaboration between prosthetics, makeup, and hair was eventually brought down to around 2.5 hours by the finale — a true testament to teamwork, problem solving, and repetition.
