25 and still struggling.

Life is hard. Especially as you get older. We have created this social construct that you have to be in a certain place at a certain point in your life and if you haven’t reached that yet, you start to feel behind and like you’re slacking or that you’re doing something wrong. 

25 and I’m still living with my parents. 

25 and I don’t have a stable career. 

25 and I have never been in a serious relationship. 

25 and depressed and anxious. 

But just because I live with my parents, don’t have my career set, or don’t have a significant other at 25, does not mean I am a failure. All it means is that I don’t have to waste money on rent, I’m still figuring out my passions, and I am figuring out who I am. 

Life is not a race, and although I feel discouraged that I am not where I’m “supposed to be”, I know this is my path, and I’m gonna be successful and happy anyway. 

This isn’t 25 and struggling. This is 25 and still figuring out life and how to love myself.
