this also feels like a perfect time to say that my lore regarding my own oc (kisen, getÅ's ancestor from the heian/edo period depending on the verse/thread, who also possessed cursed spirit manipulation) goes hand in hand with kenjaku and that lore is that kenjaku waited thousands/hundreds of years for "[then] a young man with cursed spirit manipulation appeared" because they couldn't get to/couldn't transfigure themself into kisen's body because it was devoured by his own cursed spirits that identified him as a threat to himself. the lore is so deep and delicious
