That dumb face. Why was it so annoying and so adorable at the same time? Doojoon disliked how his mind was working so differently right now, now that it was out in the open. The idiot wasn’t even believing in what he was saying, or he did, it just wasn’t registering. He let it sink into Gikwang’s head for a moment, staying quiet as he suddenly felt the cabin they were riding shake and he lifted his head only to find that he was way up in the air. He gulped hard, trying to keep his cool as he just looked at Gikwang instead.
“Yeah, you think I’m joking right now?” he furrowed his brows at the other. He would never really joke about something like this. “I do like you. Romantically. if that clears things more for your dumb brain. I guess I knew for the longest time I just couldn’t really understand or address it. I was confused,” he mumbled softly. He knew that right now, things were still confusing. But that didn’t really change how he felt for his best friend.
“You should be. If you weren’t then, well,” he sighed a little. It would have gone much worse if Gikwang suddenly said he was taken or something and his confession was going to be responded to with rejection. How was he going to handle that? He let out a sigh, as he looked down again, “I really like you and after that kiss, the feelings just kind of grew more and I was sure about how I feel. I don’t know much about things and I’ve never really had experience but you know that.” He smiled a little before he looked away again. The breeze that suddenly blew and the cart shook more and he swallowed hard again.
“W-we….we-we’re high up,” he mumbled and looking over at his best friend, his face had gone pale. “I didn’t….shit….” he could feel his hands grow cold and clammy as he tried his best not to take notice of how high up they are but that was hard to do now because the view was amazing yes, but not when the cart kept swinging as they had reached the top and the ferris wheel stopped to give the people at the top time to appreciate the view. Of course, for Doojoon this was pure torture.
With everything that had been said and with every word that his brain had processed, Gikwang felt on top of the world (sitting in a cabin of a Ferris Wheel probably took part in it too). He was still in disbelief, and he was trying hard to remember about the kiss the other had mentioned before. Furrowing his brows, he looked out of the cabin, taking in the sight of the slowly setting sun, while he felt the other's serious gaze on him. Doojoon wasn't the type to joke about that kind of matter, he was just too kind to hurt someone else like this. Especially since the two of them had been friends since forever, there was no way that the other would fool around with him now.
So he shoke his head and turned his gaze back to his friend, cheeks still flushed in embarrassment. "It's not like I think you are joking, hyung... We have been friends for twenty years now and I never noticed you liking me... I am just overwhelmed." Gikwang felt all warm and fluffy inside, yet it was hard to put all these feelings into words. All these years of keeping all his emotions locked away, in fear of what would happen if he were to let them spill out and take him over, were still present in his mind and he was at a loss of words. If anything, Gikwang wanted to do things right, to be at Doojoon's side without the fear of being left. But before he was able to sort out his thoughts and return the older man's loving words, the cabin began to shake harder then before, was swayed by a strong breeze like a toy in child's hand.
Surprised, he looked over to his friend who was suffering from acrophobia. The colour had vanished from the older male's handsome features, he seemed to be shaking and out of it. Carefully standing up to prevent the cart from swaying even more, he moved over to his best friend's seat and squeezed himself next to him, while putting his arms around his shoulders. "It's ok, hyung. Don't be scared. I'm here with you." He whispered softly, trying to comfort him the best he could, while hugging him gently.
