My current obsession is Phil "CM Punk" Brooks and his lady love April Jeanette "AJ Lee" Mendez-Brooks. I saw their storyline on 2012. I didn't think too much of it until I learned that they were together in real life, I was happy for them but I wasn't actually a "shipper" or a "hardcore shipper" until this year.
I restarted watching wrestling again, I was rewatching the matches of WWE Women's Division and all the matches in AEW. Then I saw that Punk had came back from his 7 1/2 years of hiatus, I didn't even know that he had stopped wrestling for that long. I just thought he was on a sabbatical like what Chris Jericho did.
Then the I heard the story from Punk himself of what actually happened during his stay in the WWE when I listened to Art of Wrestling with Colt Cabana, and The Oral Sessions with Renee Paquette it broke my heart that someone who loved something that much was too burned out to continue doing it. I applaud him, I applaud his stance and I am proud!
But then I watched MVs about them and learned that during that storyline in 2012 that someone broke character and slipped someone the tongue that was a HUGE no-no during the "on-air PG era skit" and it made me kilig like nothing else, I read the comments and saw that AJ wrote a book about her life and I said, "Ok, I'm just going to read this Chapter" [the Chapter where AJ talked about Punk] and I screamed after reading it!
Apparently during this storyline assclown Punk is already in love with Crazy Chick AJ. I was like a sponge absorbing all the informations about their love story, how they started, how they ran away from each other, and how they say fuck it because they just can't live without each other anymore.
I watched MVs made by fellow shippers dedicating it to them, I watched interviews where they talked about each other [moreso Punk than AJ]. It was like everytime I hear those interviews it reinvigorates my love for them, every single time I saw Punk wearing his wedding ring I internally scream and cry and my heart does a fucking wheel.
Then I learned the most significant dates on their lives,
September 2013, somewhere in this month they said fuck this and decided to stop running from each other [well I actually think this is the month that AJ stopped running and turned to see Punk just following her with that special AJ smile, just waiting for her to stop running from them. Because I think Punk had accepted that he finally saw that someone who had made his world stop.]
March 18 2014, the date Punk said "I can't live without you anymore April, I want you in my life and I want to spend the rest of mine with you beside me, so will you be wife?"
June 13 2014, (fuck WWE! 🖕🏻) The day they said I do or according to AJ, the day she thanked Punk for "having an ass that just won't quit!"
So yes, I'm currently obsessed with a couple that embodies the saying "Life imitating art!"
