re-reading the Ranger's Apprentice series and I am not immune to that sacred connection between a horse and their rider

Tug hesitated, pawing the ground as he watched the cavalry ride away – back towards where he had last seen his master. He trotted a few uncertain places after the troops then, at a word from Gilan, he reluctantly fell in behind the tall Ranger.

don't you worry, Tug! you'll be back with Will in no time!! (...I hope 😂 it's been a while and I don't remember what happens next lmao)
