A lot of these things actually make me incredibly uncomfortable. I do not consider myself pro-ship for these reasons.

But I’m aware that people will consider me pro-ship because I am anti-harassment. So I might as well hang out with these people. They seem more reasonable than the digital pitchforks and torches crowd anyway.

My opinions are:

Boundaries should be respected.

DNI lists should be respected.

Surprisingly, you can ask someone not to interact without insulting them.

Suicide baiting is never justified. If you suicide bait someone you are a monster.

You don’t care about trauma victims if you deliberately try to trigger panic attacks or send gore.

You don’t care about trauma victims if you demand to see a list of traumatic experiences and disabilities before you can permit someone to partake in act of FICTION.

Aging up characters is not pedophilic, by the very definition. The comparison between aging up and ‘waiting for a teen’s 18th birthday’ does not work because YOU CANNOT GROOM SOMEONE THAT DOES NOT EXIST.

Cis women can do that with trans women because they're cis. Trans men are not seen as innocent victims in relation to anyone else and to assert they are just goes to show you believe everything TERFs and Christofascists say, and that should be considered a deeply embarrassing thing to publicly admit. If you stop and think for five seconds this will start to make sense to you.

Green eyes shouldn’t actually be considered an eye color. It’s just not common enough, it’s a VERY SMALL percentage of the population, 1-2%. Green eyes are also caused by an irregular mutation. Most people have blue or brown eyes, so those are the two eye colors.

All the “green eyes” positivity is actually a bad thing, by the way. Having green eyes is linked to higher rates of retinal melanoma. You’re celebrating something dangerous that can cause suffering.

And besides, most people with “green eyes” lean closer to blue or brown anyways. They should just make up their minds and be brown eyed or blue eyed. And if it’s too hard to tell, they should get corrective surgery (because green eyes are dangerous, and associated with more difficult medical care!) or at the least wear contacts so they don’t confuse people. I hate to sound like this, but green eyes are a far more recent development than blue eyes in the mutagenic history of humans. So humans weren’t created to have green eyes.

And hazel eyes? Those are just a variant of brown eyes—come on, they’re far closer to brown than green. They just have a couple greenish traits. And there’s no way there’s that many green eyed people, or a wide variety of eye colors… It’s just not natural.

I don’t have a problem with green eyed people, they didn’t ask to be born that way—but there’s just too few of them for it to be an actual eye color. We don’t need all this “green eye positivity” or putting green eyes in media. The internet is making people delude themselves into thinking it’s more common than it really is.

There's that one take that's like 'Why can't intersex people think of a better word, 'coersion' is something we all go through blah blah' bullshit

I personally think maybe any other word they come up with would be co-opted anyway and maybe they don't need to use a word more violent & descriptive than 'coersion' because they don't need to lay out the intricate horrors of their abuse at the hands of doctors and other intersexists, and expecting them to lay out their trauma because you don't think they get to use vague/shorthand terms is fucking cruel, go outside and think about what you did.

I need perisex people to know that for intersex people CAFAB the entire external genital tubercle structure (clitoris/penis/clitorophallus) is often removed, or very little of it is left in the "clitoral reduction" variant of IGM.

Intersex people CAFAB and imposed female sometimes experience forced vaginal dilations in a doctor's office throughout childhood, in order to make the vagina large enough for 'use' by a future husband. This is painful and done regardless of whether or not the child protests. I've heard the response from the doctors and nurses compared to the way they respond to a child being scared of a necessary shot.

I also need people to know that of most surgical reassignment cases of intersex people, most of the time they are made "female" simply because it's easier for the surgeon to remove parts than it is to construct new ones. These surgeries are first and foremost cosmetic, do not forget that.

I may not be CAFAB but I give a shit about other people. I give a shit about medical rape even though I haven't been subjected to it. I give a shit about the life-long pain and sexual dysfunction these people face. I want you to give a shit about it too. Give a shit about intersex people even if you do not personally relate to us.

Intersexism is when perisex people within the queer community constantly use our bodies as arguments to support their identities, but will say we aren't considered queer and that justifies excluding us from community building and discussions.

Intersexuality is nuanced to every single intersex person. If an intersex person doesn't feel that they are queer, that is completely valid. But there are plenty of intersex people who are queer, and plenty of us are queer because of our intersexuality. And, frankly, I don't think we should measure how worth it or not it is to fight for intersex rights based on if they are queer or not.

Let intersex people use the language that makes navigating life work. And don't just throw us in the dust when we aren't useful anymore.
