Not all kink or fetish are created equal and the idea that you should never kinkshame someone has enabled a lot of people who have kinks and fetishes that are predatory or actively harmful. I see stuff like forcefem and feederism for example get a pass when the communities that engage in them have serious issues not practicing their kink ethically or have led directly to people being hospitalized and dying.
I love the profic crowd generally but I do think that they put a lot of emphasis on tagging everything possible on a fic but if an author chooses the most barebones tagging on their fic they are still tagging correctly and itâs still your responsibility to leave and not be an asshole to the author if you read something that upsets you. If an author tags just characters, fandom, chose not to use archive warnings, and nothing else thatâs their right as an author.

There was recently a docuseries about a place run by a guy with a fetish for morbidly obese women and feederism, one of the women invited to his residence which is a sort of content farm for this type of thing died due to obesity related complications. Thereâs crossover with feederism and parts of the mukbang sphere and the more extreme corners of the BBW community.
Admittedly the harms caused by the forcefem crowd are much less serious, but Iâve seen a lot of them make excuses for trying to push the kink onto other unprompted or talk about forcefemming trans men. Iraq used to be a one-party dictatorship where critics of the regime were disappeared by the secret police. While it is currently an incredibly dysfunctional society that's at best an anocracy, the average Iraqi can now publicly criticize the state without expecting to be taken away at night and never seen again. They can try, even with how complicated it is, to participate in the political process and govern themselves instead of being told to obey the Ba'ath party or else. And the ethnic minorities, Kurds in particular, are now able to live without fear of being targeted for, to call a spade a spade, a pogrom. The war was started over the lie that Saddam had WMDs, and yet something good actually came out of it.
