Lowkey scared for shadowvanilla in the future 😭

I mean, didn't this update kind of ended PL for the future? If I understood it correctly. Even if she comes back, she won’t really be herself anymore, and she’ll be a different mortal cookie without her past memories. At least, that’s what I understood? Please correct me if I’m wrong. I played it at 6 a.m. and I'm not really sure.

But man, imagine if they give them an ending where PV also becomes mortal, and they live out the rest of their lives together with the new WL, because she promised that she will find him...

My purefount brain is working overtime because other than sm himself, if pv were to ever meet fount his closest ref of fount’s possible personality would be the fragment of the hm. Pv unintentionally seeing fount thru rose tinted glasses until fount, like how some of us did before this update and hm costume, to find out fount and sm will always be the same person.

PureFount... so deliciously tragic. I once made a post about how APV would literally get on his knees just to hug Fount if he ever got the chance to meet him. And now, seeing just how sweet and full of love the Headmaster really was? He’d be so down bad for him.

Fount/Headmaster’s ethereal beauty alone would make APV’s head ache. He genuinely wouldn’t know what to do with himself.

seeing fount makes me question how did he go from fount to headmaster coz headmaster has that silliness in him

I kinda believe the Headmaster as another mask Fount created for himself, like he was trying to reinvent himself again and see if living differently would finally change something. He threw himself completely into his work and his thesis on the witches, and the whole cheerful, eccentric Headmaster thing feels like part of that reinvention.

Pure Vanilla even says that the portraits are all Shadow Milk from different periods of his life, so it seems like this was something he kept doing: adopting a new persona, starting over, hoping this version of himself might work out differently. But every attempt eventually led him back to the same place.

So I don’t think the Headmaster being genuinely jolly necessarily means Fount himself was ever really like that underneath. That happiness could’ve belonged to the role he was playing. Deep down, Fount was still petty, bitter, hurt, and carrying around all that sadness he never actually managed to escape.

I love fount so much i love how mean he is from day one which i find adorably ironic because fount has a softer, gentler appearance (he has soft droopy eyes) compared to his current self. Even headmaster and sage has softer eyes than shadow milk and adlib ending who has sharper eyes

YESSS i love how sassy and petty he is 😭 Fount being an unempathetic cookie who couldn’t understand why other cookies found joy or meaning in ordinary, mundane things is just chef's kiss. He just also happened to be kind of a dick for reasons completely separate from what happened to him. This doesn't mean he was evil. He was just baked with a lot of sass and pettiness 😭🙏

Thoughts on the leaked tarot? Feeling a bit down about it 🥲

Honestly, I felt pretty down about it too 🥲 I ended up talking it through with my friend @gardenstarlight, and after reading more about the card, this is basically where we landed:

The Lovers is probably one of the most misunderstood cards in tarot. It can represent romance, but its core meaning is much broader: alignment, harmony, important choices, and deciding which path to take. It can apply to romantic relationships, platonic bonds, personal values, or two people reaching a major turning point. So the card itself does not automatically mean that WL and PV are in love, becoming lovers, or even currently have romantic feelings for each other.

When you combine it with PV apparently receiving The Hermit card, I actually think it may be pointing toward them making their own choices and eventually following separate paths. WL could remain where she is, while PV returns to his responsibilities in the living world.

So far, WL’s feelings toward PV also come across as pretty platonic in the original Korean. The English localization has a habit of making some of their dialogue sound more ambiguously romantic than it actually is.

A good example is WL’s letter to PV. In Korean, she refers to him as her “precious best friend,” but the English version translates it as “precious companion,” which removes the explicitly platonic wording and makes the line sound much more open to romantic interpretation. People were going wild over her unfinished words, “My… precious…,” when the Korean wording makes it clear that she was trying to call him her precious best friend 💀

I genuinely do not think this guarantees an explicit romance next update. If anything, it feels like Devsis is deliberately using an extremely recognizable and easily misinterpreted tarot card to generate discussion and bait multiple interpretations.

My main advice is to wait for the actual story and protect your peace in the meantime. Pur3lily discourse is probably going to be exhausting for the next couple of weeks, especially with people treating the card as definitive proof without looking into its wider meaning. Muting the “pur3lily” tag for now is probably the best option. I muted it too for my own mental health 😭

It was already obvious, but I’m glad the devs finally spelled it out for the people who kept misreading it on purpose to slander Pure Vanilla.

Yes, Pure Vanilla wants to understand Shadow Milk. Yes, he wants to befriend him. But that does not mean he is going to instantly forgive him or excuse everything he has done.

People keep acting like PV “forgave a murderer” immediately, but understanding was never the same thing as forgiveness.

Pure Vanilla’s writing definitely has some flaws because of the devs’ inconsistent storytelling, but this was not one of them. His goal was never blind forgiveness. It was trying to understand him without denying the damage he caused.
